  1. How about getting them to sign up here and post their reports here?
  2. You would end up with a ball of lead if you tried to run them this way. The heavier dive bombs will tangle with your inner lines if you have to reset your outside boards. You want your heavier dive bombs closest to the boat. I did lots of testing with them and ran them for years. Running multiple dive bombs on the same side was not an issue as long as they were the same distance from the board. So......If you are running a 5 color, 7 color, and a 10 color, and you attach the dive bomb at 2.5 colors on each core, you also have to let out enough backing on the 5 color and 7 color cores to equal the distance of the full cor before you attach the board. Sometimes I would run 1/2 cores with 4oz dive bombs and full cores on the same sides. Then....I would put the 1/2 cores with the dive bomb on the inside board, and run the full core the next board out. Yes, I know you are suppose to have the longest lines closest to the boat, but I always ended up with tangles unless I put the 1/2 core with the dive bomb on the inside. The 1/2 core with the dive bomb has a faster sink rate than the full core. IMO.....anything more than a 4-6oz dive bomb attached to a core is too big to be pulled with a planer board.
  3. Nice fish Steve! Do you eat those fish?
  4. When I had the pro tournaments, I also used a ball retriever. I had problems with the cable fraying at the crimp. Some people use a speed bead so they do not have to crimp it on the cable. I also had problems with the bead getting caught in the ball retriever when setting lines, and would end up with a birds nest on the rigger if I was not carefull.
  5. Nice job Ed!
  6. Welcome aboard Gerry! You will find plenty of usefull information here. It wont be long and everyone will be on the big pond again.

This is in the game plan.....but its not in the budget yet. Need to get some sponsors. I would love to take you up on this offer, but I would be afraid of something happening to it if I borrowed it. Having two cars there, I am WAY to busy while I am there to take pictures. Once they are on the track, I am on the track(infield) with them, so I could never take the pictures. My wife is the one that records the races for me. What are you doing on 24 March? How would you like to go to the DeltaPlex with me? 24 March is our last indoor race. We start racing in April at the Little Kalamazoo Speedway.
  8. Most of you know my sons are racing quarter midgets now. There are a few photographers who have been taken pictures of the racing at the deltaplex. I contacted one of them to see if he would sell my a digital copy of one of his images. He only sells printed images. Printed images are not what I am looking for. So.....I am looking for a good camera that will take good images without being blurry. I know nothing about fps or shutter speed, or lenses. Can someone shed a little light on what I should be looking for? Any recommendations for a camera?
  9. I dont want to seem offensive either, but just because he is looking for a depth contour map does not mean he does not know what he is doing and should take a boaters safety coarse. He might be looking for one for viewing online so he can study it and form a game plan for this coming year. There are several places on the internet where you can find FREE depth charts of the Great Lakes. There is a link in the upper navbar(Nautical Charts) for people to click on to view the depth charts of all of the Great Lakes. This forum is here for people to ask these questions.
  10. Great job Capt. Richard! This will get more people who have had the itch out.
  11. Did you check the timing on this? Might just need a timing chain.
  12. Good to see someone on the water already. Thanks for the report Kevin!
  13. Forgot I took this one.
  14. Im not sure....but it looks like the rigger rod in the back corner is released.
  15. We are bringing both of our cars to the DeltaPlex for another round of indoor racing on 4 Feb. Heat races start at 3:30pm, meet and greet starts at 6pm, and features start at 7pm. More information at DeltaPlex Racing My sons will be handing out autograph cards at the meet and greet. If you are looking for something to do on Saturday, come to the races.
  16. Keep in mind the distance you have to stay away from the power plant. After 9/11 you can not longer get close to the warm water discharge.
  17. Welcome aboard Chris! Nice looking rig you have. If you need anything let out a shout!
  18. Ryan, I have a link here for the inland lakes in Michigan.
  19. It all depends on what boat the crew is on, as to what you see on TV. They all catch fish. The colors and where you run them in the water column is the important information.
  20. Watch out for the nets to the South! Ditto on the depths that nailer said. There is a lot of shallower structure around Whitehall. I ran up there from Muskegon in the dark and set up in between the nets by mistake. I thought I was North of the last net, but there was one more. Good thing I did a West troll in the dark instead of a North or South troll. One thing to note about Keating. The areas he fishes are flat with a very gradual drop off. Whitehall has a nice drop off. Watch the thermocline and you will find the fish away from structure. Now that I have confused you with what the book said.....There are always fish around the nets(they are a structure). The trick is being able to fish around the nets without getting tangled.
  21. Hunter is really excited about it. He can not wait to put his racing number on the sides of it.
  22. Nice job Kevin. I was on the road at 8:30am this morning. It was COLD out!
  23. Welcome aboard Jim and Kathy. A few more months and everyone will be on the water again. I made a trip to Ludington and back today.
  24. I no longer need a trailer. Thanks Tom!
