  1. In 2002, with gasoline prices pushing $2 a gallon, environmentalists waged a campaign to declare the offshore bottomlands of the Great Lakes off limits to oil and gas exploration. Now, with gasoline prices recently cresting at $3, they worry that efforts to open more areas to oil and gas exploration could undermine the state and federal protections for which they fought. http://www.theoaklandpress.com/stories/090106/loc_2006090136.shtml
  2. The U.S. Coast Guard has extended the public comment period on a controversial plan to establish 34 permanent live-fire zones on the Great Lakes where crews can have occasional target practice with machine guns, rifles and small 9mm guns, according to the official Web site of U.S. Rep Pete Hoekstra, R-Holland. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060901/NEWS06/609010368

  5. The site was down for a few(around 5) hours today. The host moved(we were not supposed to be moved until until late tonight) us to the new server and something went a miss. I was not online when they made the move and did not realize the site was down. When I tried to get online and could not, I contacted the host and they fixed the issue. Sorry for any inconvenience. Mike
  6. Battle lines are being drawn over the Great Lakes and this time, it's not a metaphor. 13. I have a question on mounting a site to the bow. I picked up a new site for my bow. This is the site I picked up. It has 2 sets of counter sunk holes for attaching it to the bow. The directions did not specify which ones to use. When mounting it to the bow, should I use the holes closest to the site pins or the two that are further away? Is there any advantage to mounting them in one set or the other?

  17. Trace radiation poses no threat, officials say Louise Ihlenfeldt, a retired dairywoman, lives just down the road from the Kewaunee Power Station. Over the years, she has been such a good neighbor that she was photographed for the nuclear industry's advertisements. So when she learned about a radiation leak under the plant, Ihlenfeldt gave her usual answer: "I haven't had any problems. That doesn't bother me." http://greenbaypressgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060826/GPG0101/608260412/1978
