    Turkey Pics

I had 9 turkeys up around the house today. One Tom, and eight hens. One of the hens has a beard. The red chair in the first picture is my compter chair. See how close to the house they are? Here is the Tom up close.
  2. Nice report Tom. Must be nice getting those big Kings all the time.
  3. MILITARY: Training goes ahead during a debate on permanent live-fire zones on the Great Lakes. Crews on two U.S. Coast Guard vessels fired machine guns Tuesday on Lake Superior off Two Harbors as part of live-fire training exercises that some people mistakenly believed were on hold. The crews fired M-240 machine guns at a floating target about eight miles offshore, said Chief Petty Office Robert Lanier, spokesman for the Coast Guard's Great Lakes district based in Cleveland. http://www.duluthsuperior.com/mld/duluthsuperior/15506539.htm
  4. I did the same thing. 1 1/2 years later, I am still trying to sell sold the old house so I can get another boat On a more positive note. I finally signed a buy/sell agreement this past Sunday on the old house. I hope to have a boat for next season. I thought we had it sold a year ago, and they backed out 2 weeks before closing. I will not get my hopes up until we actually close on the other house.
  5. What did everyone catch their fish on? I fished with Caznik, so I will let Rich give the report. btw....Rich likes to yell "Fish On!" even though there is not one, just to see how fast we jump. You should have seen how fast he moved when I said we had a big brown on behind the boat. Talk about dropping everything in your hands and grabbing the net MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! You would think that fish was worth an extra 20 points or something....sheesh!
  6. Welcome to the site Mike. NICE brown!!! I new I should have grabbed that lead core rod. Thats what I get for being lazy
  7. PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — The village of Put-in-Bay and the National Park Service will provide an ear-splitting send-off to the end of summer during the annual Historic Weekend that begins today. A 32-pound carronade, similar to the type used in the War of 1812, will thunder, historic re-enactors will fire black-powder guns, and Vice Admiral Ronald Route, the naval inspector general, will speak. The event celebrates the 193rd anniversary of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry’s victory over the British fleet at the Battle of Lake Erie. http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060908/NEWS17/60908050/-1/NEWS
  8. ELYRIA, Ohio — Despite the annoyance that mayflies pose each June when they swarm across the region, Ohioans have generally held the broad-winged insects in high esteem because of what they have symbolized: Lake Erie’s recovery. Now, a decade after pollution dissipated enough for mayflies to make their comeback, some researchers believe they could be hurting the lake by helping algae grow. http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060908/NEWS06/60908004/-1/NEWS

  10. Gas is $2.44 per gallon here in Otsego, MI. Whats the price of gas and location where you are at?
  11. Looks like the trick to the fish dance is hanging on to your bait
  12. As Mike stated, fishchat has been uninstalled. Mike caught the warning vBulletin posted about an exploit in flashchat, the day they posted it. I uninstalled it the same day of vBulletins post, after Mike told me about it. Thanks Mike! There is a "fix" out for flashchat, but I am not sure if I will reinstall it or find something else. I need to do some more checking.
  13. This is the offshore forecast. It should be fishable with the East wind.
  14. Nature is unpredictable. It was just a matter of time before something got him.
  15. My condolences go out to his family.
  16. How far behind the spinner are you running your flies? Most people run them 18-24" behind the spinner.
  17. BRISBANE, Australia -- Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44. Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest" when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said. "He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time. http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=232667&GT1=7703
  18. Thats a good idea Gin
  19. Good to see you again Gin! I have uninstalled fishchat. The site has been getting hammered by would be hackers attempting to get in through an exploit in flash chat. You would think they would have something better to do than to attempt to hack this site. I am not sure what we are going to do about a chat room.
  20. This poll is for SPOONS, not baits or flies I added "other" to the list. You will have to specify in a post.
  21. There is a vulnerablility that exists in flashchat v4.5.7 that is being eploited. This is a major security issue. Vbulletin recommends it be uninstalled. Looking out for the well being of the site, I have uninstalled flashchat/fishchat.
  22. I think I know where you are getting your fish from Highfin carpsucker
  23. Whats your favorite brand of spoons? Whats your most productive color?
