I believe its the turbulence at the back of the boat. I would like to get a through hull transducer, but that is out of the question at the moment. I am considering putting the transducer beyond(deeper) Lowrance's recommendations.

Here is a pencil sketch that Frank(Priority1) did of my boys. We are going to have this made into a picture to hang on the wall. Actually...he used photoshop Thanks Frank!

I installed a new fish finder this year and put a transom mount transducer. Somewheres around18-20mph I am loosing bottom contact. I am thinking I do not have the transducer deep enough. How fast can you run your boat before your fish finder looses bottom contact?

Well....I went up to work on the boat today. It took me 1 hour to get through Grand Haven, because they were working on the bridge and had it down to one lane :angry2: Marine Forecast SATURDAY NORTH WINDS 5 TO 15 KNOTS. PARTLY SUNNY. WAVES 2 TO 4 FEET SUBSIDING TO 1 TO 3 FEET. It was around 4:30 when I finished working on the boat(installed new radio) Knowing the marine forecast, I decided I would take the boys out fishing. Well as you can see by the photo, they only made it to the channel before they were dreaming about screaming drags and 50lb chinook's :D I hit the end of the inner pier, and put the boat on plane. Hit the outer break wall and was greeted by 3-5's So much for the marine forecast Knowing I could not run lines and the boat by myself in 3-5's, we made a short trip out, turned around went back to the dock. There will be another day.

I always use it when I turkey hunt. Make sure you get some that will repell ticks aslo.

Great story Steve! Glad to hear your brother finally got one. Turkey hunting is almost as exciting as bow hunting, which is almost as exciting as the sound of a screaming drag!

Custom Fishing Products and Siggs Rigs are sponsoring a big fish caught on their flasher/fly combination contest, for the West Michigan Fishing League season. The winner of the contest will receive 10 flasher/fly combinations. Every captain will receive one custom flasher/fly combo at the next event! Rules Fish must be caught on a Custom Fishing Products/Siggs Rigs fly combination. A picture of the fish with the flasher/fly combination must be taken the day of the tournament. We would prefer a picture taken when the fish is caught in the boat. This makes a much better picture with the fishing back ground. If you do not have a camera, Rich or myself will have one at the weigh in and can take your picture. You must make a post on either Great Lakes Fisherman or Michigan-Sportsman showing your fish with the flasher/fly combo. If you do not make a post with the picture, you will not be eligible.

Nice catch Bob! Its nice to see some people are willing to end their days fishing to help someone in need out. Kudo's for a job well done! -
If there is not a price in a for sale item, I usually ask what the price is. I try to give everyone the bennifit of the doubt, that the seller over looked adding the price.

After a discussion with a member, I have changed the rule back to a no more than a 3 person limit in your possesion. Some people are will be traveling from a long ways away to fish. Makes it harder to swallow the costs of the gas, when you are only allowed a two man limit in the boat.

It was a GREAT time on the water, except for the fan. It blew hard all day long. Good thing it was out of the East and not out of the West. We ran from Port Sheldon to Grand Haven to fish the West Michigan Fishing League event. We set up in 46' of water on a North troll. Our first fish came on a Stinger Nitro Twister(stingray size) on a half core around sunrise. While I was fighting the fish, the board dove and popped off the line. We could not find the board after we netted the fish. That was the only port side board we had. We trolled back to where we set up and started another North troll. About the same spot we caught our first fish, we hook another fish. This was on a Stinger Nitro E.T.(stingray size) on a rigger set at 45'. This ended up being our big king for the day. It hit the scales at 13.2lbs. We boxed this fish and went back around for another pass. Our next troll through the area a wire dipsey with 70' of line out, on #3 setting, blue bubble spinner with a fly. There is nothing like catching a spring king on a wire rig. You can feel every head shake of the fish. This was our third fish in the box. The wind shifted directions from East to South East. We never had another bump until we was pulling lines. I had just finished reeling in port side rigger line and taking care of the rod, and looked over at the other rigger. The rod was standing straight up and nobody was home. This was a Stinger Stingray Freakin' Veggies set at 45'.
