  1. How far South are you willing to go? Do you need a fish cleaning station? There are a lot of empty slips in my marina in Muskegon. There is not a fish cleaning station there, but there is one at Fishermans Landing right around the corner. There is a $5.00 usage fee on the fish cleaning station at Fishermans Landing Fishermans Landing has out of the water storage. Then when you want to fish, just launch the boat. They also have a camp ground.
  2. Welcome to the site Lucas. Looks like Phil gets the pat on the back for the recommendation. If you need anything, let out a yell!
  3. I was up to the mall in Grandville yesterday, and swung through Gander Mountain aslo. While I was there, I decided to pick up a new Shakespear antenna. In the instructions for the antenna, it says to coil up the extra cable in an 8" coil. *GLF thinks back to the phone conversation with the Shakespear tech a few weeks ago. I was told to cut the extra cable and not to have more than 1' of extra cable. I have a set of directions telling me one thing, and their tech telling me another. hmmmmmmm I will cut the extra cable off. On the way up to the boat, I called left a message on minnow's(Scott) voice mail, asking if he could bring a soldering iron to the boat. I told him to call me when he got out of work. While I was waiting, the boys wanted to go swimming, so we took them to the pool so they could swim. While putting them in the pool, I submerged my phone After it was submerged, it did not work. It just sat there vibrating. So I pulled the battery out and let it dry. Well...Scott tried to call me a few times, and I was not able to answer the phone. So I did not get the connector soldered on. Thanks Scott for being kind and willing enough to bring the soldering iron to the boat. While I was there, I put the center conductor of the cable in the connector on the back of the radio, and turned it on. I now have better reception. Next time up to the boat, I will bring a soldering iron with me to put on the connector.
  4. It will be there in the morning...even if I have to stack em 2 or 3 deep! For weigh in, I will drop the cooler off and take the boat back to the slip. Its right around the corner from Fishermans Landing.
  5. Welcome aboard Rayman. Its good to hear the good word is getting out. Make sure you tell all your friends If you need anything, let out a yell!
  6. Thanks for the heads up on the nets.

  15. Welcome to the site! I live on the West side of Michigan, and call Lake Michigan my home waters. I have always wanted to take a trip to Lake Ontario to catch some of those MONSTER kings. Whats you biggest King?
  16. Nice group of Kings Bill! What was the FOW, how deep were you fishing, and what baits were hot???? J/K :D Good luck in the Pro/Am. Hopefully the fish do not move on you.
  17. You are not allowed to modify the appearance of the baits(spoons, sidekick, slasher and flies) you receive in your package. ie...no adding or removing tape, or adding paint, etc, etc, etc...
  18. Talk about a fire drill! Nice job and report!
  19. Welcome to the site! What part of Ohio are you from?
  20. Underneath everyone's name is a User Title. These do not signify anything, other than the amount of posts a member has made. Everyone starts out as Fisherman. Your User Title will change with the more posts you make. The current User Titles and number of posts that are needed to reach the next step are as follows. Fisherman 0 - 99 posts Advanced Fisherman 100 - 499 posts Seasoned Veteran 500 + I will probably add more titles as time goes on.
  21. I am not knocking Phil, nor anyone else on the computer. Some people are not proficient on the computer, or at giving reports. Some people have words flowing through their finger tips when they post reports. His report on 7/5 says he shut down in 60FOW and started setting lines. I would venture to say he probably started there Friday and Saturday. Someone could always ask..."How deep were you fishing Phil, and how far down"?
  22. Location is not required in posts. This is his choice on whether or not to post his location. The Big Red Classic is going on this weekend out of Holland. I would not want to share my spot with 150 boats? I am happy just seeing the depths he is fishing and the depths the fish are being caught at. Once you know the depths, you should be able to duplicate the pattern up and down the coast, unless he is fishing over structure.
  23. Its the third day in a row I am sitting here at work reading your reports. Whats wrong with this picture? I wish I was fishing! Nice job of catching!
  24. Instead of slackers, I would put sliders(fixed or free) on the existing rigger rods. This will get you 4 baits on your riggers in the water instead of 2. I have my sliders premade to 6' and have swivels at both ends. Setting the diver on 3 will get your baits further to the sides, and decrease your chance of tangles. You will not get the depth out of a diver set on 3 that you will get with one set on 1. Get some adjustable rod holders for your divers. Make sure they are a good quality aluminum construction. The last thing you want is a plastic rod holder to break and loose your gear. You want to lay them almost parallel to the water. Mount them at least 1' in front of your riggers. This will get the line off to the sides of your boat and out of the way. Then...you will need to add more rod holders further up the sides. These will be used for lead core set ups. Attach your core rods to planer boards, and run them off to the sides. Who said fishing was cheap!
  25. I am running 10 1/2' wire rods with my divers. I am running a 6' leader with a 1' snubber, between my dipsey and flasher. I will run between an 18-24" lead from the flasher to the fly.
