Cell phone lost at Dreamweaver Challenge
GLF replied to Satisfaxion_Gauranteed's topic in General Discussion
Is this it? -
I have my boat fixed. After the dreamweaver tourney, I went back to the boat and pulled the carb, and took it apart. There was a small piece of dirt/debree stuck on the needle valve. The debree did not allow the needle valve to fully seat, causing the engine to flood. Is there a small filter that should have caught this inside the carb where the fuel line attaches?

Dreamweaver Challenge 7-22
GLF replied to GLF's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
13th There were a lot of nice boxes of fish weighed in. -
I lost my cell phone at the last Port Sheldon event. Heavy Action caught a fish that still had it attached, and was kind enough to return it to me. This is one HOT fish catching set up. Fish go beserk when it goes by vibrating. I can not wait to put this back in the water! Thanks for returning my phone Larry!!!

Our finally tally for the day was 6 for 8. Saturday we caught our bigger fish in the bottom 10' of water. This was the depth We were going to target. Our day started off in the same water from the day before. Our spread consisted of 2 spinner/fly combos on the riggers, with a spoon slider on each line. Two full core, one 5 color and one 6 color. Things did not start off with a bang like they did on Saturday. When it did finally start, we started off with a double. Two rods went off at almost the the same time. These fish were both on the full cores in 56FOW. One was on the Easter Egg, and the other blue/green w/ice cycle tape. We got one fish behind the boat, and he decided he was not ready to be netted, turned and peeled 50 yds of line back off the reel. The other fish we got behind the boat and I quickly scooped him up, and cleared the net. This was a 12lb king. We got the other fish back behind the boat, just out of net range when he turned, shook his head a couple of times and said, "see you later"! This fish was at least as big as the first one we boated, if not bigger. We finally managed to snake our way through all of the boat traffic for another pass through the area we had the double. Same spot as the first pass, BAM....fish on! This was on a full core again blue/green w/ice cycle tape. This was another nice king we put in the box. After a lengthy trip down and back, threading the needle through all of the boats, we almost got on the same troll. This time the blue/green w/ice cycle on the full core went again. I pushed my luck twice getting the boat back on the same troll, and each time it paid off, but I was not going to try it again. We continued South towards the nets. About half way to the nets, I swung the boat to the NW. We went quite a ways before I swung it back to the SE. We picked up our 4th fish on the SE troll. This was a small brown trout. We continued down to the nets, and I decided it was time to pull the spinners off the riggers. I changed out the spinners and put the boat on a West troll on the South side of the nets. I marked a nice fish at 80' down on the fish finder, and sent a rigger down to 80'. We got between the first and second sets of nets and I pointed the boat NW. The rigger I had just sent down to 80' went. This ended up being a 14.6lb king on the blue dolphin. After we boxed this fish and I reset the rigger, I reeled in 5 colors of the full core with the blue/green w/ice cycle, attached a 4oz Dive Bomb and sent it back out. This rod went off about 15 minutes after I set it. This ended up being another nice king. We reset it, and trolled for the last 30 minutes without another bump. Our five fish weighed 55lbs. It was a long ride back to the weigh in. Something went wrong with one of my carbs and I could not start one of the engines. We made it to weigh in with 10 minutes to spare After the weigh in, and pot luck, I went back to the boat and pulled the carb. There was a piece of dirt/debree stuck in the needle vavle. I cleaned it up and put it back together. After it was back togehter, I put it back on, and started up the engine.

Finally tally, 9 - 19 2 rows of corn 1 row of beans and a couple of squash plants :D Unfortunately, this report does not have a lot of details. The action was fast and furious and I did not have time to jot things down. I went fishing Saturday in Muskegon and took Harperman9706, and a friend from work. The lake rolled over on Friday and there was a lot of cold water in close. We shut down in 50 FOW at 5am, put the boat on a South troll and began setting lines. I was setting the 3rd rigger when the first rigger went off. This was on a Stinger Nitro Area-51. This fish wrapped up in a rigger cable and took my spoon From here all hell broke loose, and every lure after that was a blurr. It took me over an hour to finally finish setting an 11 rod spread. We ended up pulling lines with our limit at 8am. We caught fish with 2, 3, and 5 colors of lead core. We caught fish right on with riggers. Michigan Stinger Tangerine went several times, glow dolphin, monkey puke, mixed veggies, and few others that I do not remember.

There is a LOT of cold water in close. I believe it was around 50 degrees in 50FOW this weekend in Muskegon. -
Try targeting the bottom 10' with your presentation. I fished out of Muskegon the last two days, 50-60 FOW. The bigger kings we caught were in the bottom 10' of water. I had one cannonball almost dragging. Today, we had a double on full cores in 56FOW. Boxed one 12lb king and lost the other one(same size) at the back of the boat.

After hearing all the talk about the die off and such, I am suprised at the numbers they are catching. How was the fishing before the die off?
-
Thanks Tim! I must have had a case of fishing fever

Sarah C did an awesome job on the trophy! Unfortunately, I did not bring it home with me

Welcome to the site fishnfreak. Where were you when I had all of my questions? :D

I am heading to Muskegon this afternoon. I should be there around 5pm. Who is going up tonight for the Dreamweaver? I replaced the cell phone I lost Sunday at Port Sheldon. Here is my cell number if anyone wants to get together to get together to do some grilling out or drink a couple of barley pops. 259-207-8024

Cedarville and Hessel
GLF replied to Fishing Report's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
Cedarville and Hessel - Activity is high fishing from Hessel pier. Anglers are catching pike, smallmouth bass and perch. Perch are also biting in Moscoe Channel and Government Bay, with smallmouth bass hitting from Moscoe Channel all the way to Hessel. A few small salmon have been caught in the east end of McKay Bay in the Dolomite Channel, and around Goose Island out of Hessel. Herring are being taken in Government Bay and the Moscoe Channel in 9 to 20 feet of water using wax worms on an orange jig. Pike are consistently hitting in Cedarville Bay with the average fish ranging between 31 and 37 inches. Anglers are still fishing with minnows or trolling with anything in any color. Pike are also in Musky Bay, but the sizes are smaller. -
I saw an underwater video where someone retrieved a phone that had fallen through an ice fishing hole.
-
OK....I stayed up to late working on this and over slept. No work for me today. Cough....cough....cough. Looks like I am going to Muskegon
-
Another option would be to take M-222 in to Allegan, and stop by Webbers and Sons.

Welcome to the site Daddyo. How has the fishing been for you this year?

I created sub sections for each state, under each Great Lake. This should make it easier when browsing through the fishing reports to find a report for your area. When posting fishing reports, click on the lake you want to post in, then click on the state that relates to the location. Its waaayyyyyyy past my bed time, so there may be an error or two. Please let me know if you find an error. I almost forgot.....I did not go through the old reports and move them to the appropriate section. I have to get up in 4 hours for work, so I am off to bed! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I just created this new section. There are some old Ontario fishing reports under the Michigan fishing reports section. Lets get some reports in the new section.
