  1. Hopefully this moves some cold water back in.
  2. Sounds like you needed to set up a bear drive. I am not sure I would want to be one of the pushers or the person waiting for a charging bear to come at me. Oh well....next year you can get a bigger one.
  3. Has anyone else heard anything on this?
  4. GRAND HAVEN -- The U.S. Coast Guard in Grand Haven says the search for a man who fell off a boat into Lake Michigan is now a recovery effort. Officials say James Dutkiewicz, 24, fell into the lake about two miles away from the South Pier area Saturday morning, and they believe he drowned. The search was called off Sunday until lake conditions improved. Two other men, who were also on the boat, called for help. Dutkiewicz was not wearing a life preserver. A woman who says she is the sister of one of the other men on board the boat said they did what they could to save their friend, including one of them jumping overboard. http://www.woodtv.com/Global/story.asp?s=7044886
  5. I will not be pulling my boat until the end of October/beginning of November. Anyone interested in having another tourney or two, in Muskegon in September/October? The weather this time of year would be the only concern.
  6. Anyone else interested?
  7. Hey......This was the biggest fish of the season! Congrats to plumkrazy and everyone else that fished in the league this year. I will second the thanks on the GENEROUS donation by Mark(Adjusted3) of the spin doctors he won. Whats the date of the next WMFL event?
  8. KEWL pictures Terry! Too bad you could not hunt the dump!
  9. Just wanted to give Rich(caznik) a big thanks for putting on the tourney this year. I am not sure how many of you are aware of how much time Rich spent putting this together, getting all the sponsors, and posting the results after every tournament. It takes time to make the posts and be creative the way Rich did them. Thanks for an enjoyable season Rich!
  10. We did not fare well in the last tourney. I handed out all 12 spoons! Congrats to all that beat us! I will do this in a tourney again next year. On another note....We did catch the largest smallmouth bass of the tourney. It weighed 3.6lbs on my hand scale. It was caught on an 11" protroll flasher and a Siggs Rigs Blue Mist trophey fly. What do you mean this was not a bass tourney????????????? There was a comment made at the weigh in, that the smallmouth was not 14". When was the last time you saw a 3.6lb smallmouth that was not 14"?
  11. It appears I have another window pecker again this year. This is a small jake that pecks away at my basement window for over a minute. This video is 1 minute and 16 seconds, 7.27mb. You would think after a minute of pecking on the glass, he would be seeing stars..... r_arWXoY0T8
  12. Yes, they both took the easy way out. We brought a couple of strollers. By the time we started walking the bridge, I was ready to be pushed across the bridge. What was your number on your bridge walk certificate?
  13. Looking off the East side of the bridge, I could see a reef and a nice scum line that trailed off it. The first thing that popped in my mind was "boy....I wish I was trolling that scum line".
  14. Lead Core! I have caught more fish on lead core this year then any other presentation. There have been several spoons that have been consistant producers for me. Michigan Stinger Stingrays, Craig's xmas, Craig's x-mas reverse, Natural Born Killer, Orange Killer, and Killer Tangerine(Should be HOT spoon in the spring) have been my hotest colors. My next best set up has been my riggers with Michigan Stinger spoons, followed by my wire divers. A white 11" protroll with a Siggs Rigs, blue mist or green hypnotist have done most of the damage.
  15. For those that dont know, the Mackinac Bridge is currently the 3rd largest suspension bridge in the world. The first time I walked the bridge, was 26 years ago. I thought it was 25 years ago, but a phone call to my mother today, put the exact year on it. She still has my bridge walk certificate from 1981. I was the 6,300+(not sure of the exact number) something person to walk across the bridge that day. Birthdays come around once a year. My birthday happened to fall on Labor Day this year. My wife said I could do whatever I wanted to do on my birthday. The first thing that came out of my mouth was that I wanted to walk the bridge on my birthday. How many people do you know that can say they walked the Mackinac Bridge on their birthday? After I made up my mind, I then discovered it was the 50th anninversary of the bridge. This made it even more exciting. What I thought would be an early day, turned out to be a very long day. We got in line at 8:30am to catch a bus from Mackinaw City to St. Ignace to walk the bridge. Normally they close the bridge to walking at 11:00am. At 10:30am, I was wondering if I was going to get across the bridge to walk it before they shut it down. They extended the start time on for the bridge walkers. We finally got on a bus around 11:15am. By the time the bus made it through all of the traffic, and got us to the other side of the bridge it was 12:45pm. After a much needed stop in the port-a-potty, we were off on our treck across the bridge. We started at 12:50pm, and completed the walk at 2:10pm. My bridge walk certificate says I was the 39,631st person to cross the bridge that day. According to the news, there was an estimated 57,000 people that walked the bridge this day. We finally left Mackinaw City at 4:00pm for the long drive home. We finally got home at 8:30pm Monday night.
  16. I am thinking about putting together a Stinger Challenge on Lake Huron in June of 2008. I will still have a Stinger Challenge on Lake Michigan in July or August also. Who would be intereseted in doing it?

    Coyote

A friend of mine took this picture from behind his house this weekend. This coyote is 80 yds behind his house. Looks like I need to grab my 22-250, rabbit in distress call, and head on over to his house.
  18. I also want to visit Mackinac City, Castle Rock, and the Mystory Spot. I am not sure if we are going to have enough time to do everything. I am not sure what side we are going to park on. I am thinking we will start around 8am.
  19. Anyone else have a recipe for curring spawn?
  20. Final tally, 3 for 4. We left the dock at 6am this morning. We hit the lake around 6:20am, and it looked like a parking lot the day after Thanksgiving. Most of the boats were slightly to the North. We motored out to 45FOW and started setting lines. I had just finished setting the first rigger and grabbed a second rod to set, when the first rigger fired. This was on a #4 Monkey Puke J-Plug. This was a nice 14lb hen. There was too many boats in shallow, so we continued West. We picked up our second fish in 80FOW on a Michigan Stinger magnum Glow Dolphin. This was on a rigger set at 35' Our next fish came in 105FOW on a full core with a Michigan Stinger magnum NBK. Our last hit came on an East troll in 95FOW on a 6 color core with a Moonshine Hi-NRG. We lost this one. We pulled lines at 11:00 and came in.
  21. Thanks for the report Marv. I am putting on my battle gear tomorrow. Phasers(air horns) are set to stun. I hope to leave my dock by 6am. I will probably fish on the outside of the pack so I can run a full spread.
  22. I drive 10 miles to work.
  23. I get it during the summer when I am in and out of air condititioning all the time.
