  2. Nice report Brek. I had to work this weekend The money is nice, but I would rather be on the water. I hope to get out this coming weekend. Hopefully the weather coporates.
  3. They sure are getting big fast. How many, if any, of the yellows are females?
  4. Nothing better than fresh tenderloins and back straps. Nice job Roger!!!
  5. Last weekend in Muskegon, we found fish between 120-180FOW. There was a thermo cline at 110'. The last 3 days of the North blow should push some cold water in, and move the fish in closer.
  6. Awwweeee mannnnnn....... I have to work this weekend
  7. Thanks Tom! I have the correct date now.
  8. This will be on Saturday June 14th at Au Gres City Park. Sunday June 15th will be the blow date. Here is a link to their website for directions and campsites. I am working on the contents of the lure package.
  9. Great job Rich! It was a nice weekend to be on the water.
  10. After the spawn, how many of you run the same baits in the fall that you run during the summer? How many of you down size your baits in the fall? Do any of you put on bigger baits? I went fishing both days this weekend. On Sunday we went 7 for 12. I checked the stomaches of the fish while I was cleaning them. There was a lot of 2-3" alewives in their bellies, with an occasional 5" one. These fish are 2-3 years old. We caught a lot of fish today. We also marked a LOT of bait fish and other fish. We had are baits at the depths we were marking them. These bait fish and fish marks were between 120-150' down. I do not have a temp probe, but it looked like the thermo cline was showing up on my fish finder around 110-120'. The next time I head out, I will put putting some smaller baits on.
  11. I was fortunate and got to spend both days on the pond. The fish were biting, the lake was realatively calm, and I was in shorts and a t-shirt both days. Even better yet, I did not get bitten by a single biting fly! Weekends like this, this late in year do not come around very often. What did you do this weekend? Did you make it out fishing?
  12. Nice job Capt. Ed. After cleaning our catch from Muskegon today, I noticed a lot of 2-3" alewives in their stomaches. Hmmmm....down size your baits to match the hatch! Sounds like a bass fishing term.
  13. How did I forget this one??? This one took a LOT of fish for me also.
  14. What a BEAUTIFUL day to be on the water. How many days in October are 88 degrees? I glad to have had the chance to get out fishing the last two days. I posted my yesterdays report in Redeyes report located here. Speaking of Redeye.....Brek, his daughter, and grand daughter joined me and my boys out on the lake today. We left the dock at 7:05am. We ran out to 120FOW and dropped in. We marked a nice school of bait fish right away, put the boat on a West troll, and proceeded to set lines. Our first fish came when we hit 150FOW at 8:00am. This was a nice coho that came on a wire diver with an 11" protroll and a Siggs Rigs, Bluegreen Bubble fly, set on #3 with 185' of line out. Our next fish hit in 160FOW at 8:08am. This was on a slider set 20' above the ball on a down rigger set at 80. This was on a Stinger Stingray Prototype. We lost this fish. At 8:15am in 160FOW, the wire diver with the 11" Protroll and Siggs Rigs Bluegreen bubble fly went again. This was set on #3 with 185' of line out. This was a king. At 8:20am, in 145FOW, a rigger down 80' with a Stinger Mag Glow Dolphin took a nice 8lb king. At 8:38am a 6 color core in 135FOW, with a Stinger Stingray prototype goes. We lost this fish before we got it to the boat DOUBLE!!!! At 8:50am in 150FOW, the wire diver set on #3 with 185' of line out went again. We boxed this fish. While this fish was on, a 2 color core with a 4 oz dive bomb and 400' of line on the counter, with a Stinger Stingray Freakin Veggies went. Somehow I managed to farm this fish. At 9:40am we boxed a nice steelhead on a full core with a Stinger Stingray Glow Dolphin. At 10:00am we boxed 8lb king on a Stinger Mag NBK on a full core with a 4oz Dive Bomb. At 11:40am we lost a fish on a wire diver set on #3 with 300' on the counter. This was another 11" protroll flasher with a Siggs Rigs Blue Mist fly. At 12:00pm we lost a fish on a fixed slider 20' above the ball on a rigger set at 144'. This was on a Stinger Stingray Mixed Veggies. We pulled lines at 12:45pm and pulled in a lake trout that was on a Stinger Mag Glow Dolphin on a rigger set at 144'. We let this one go. We marked a lot of bait fish, and fish today from 120 - 180FOW. While cleaning fish, I checked what to see what they were eating. The kings had been eating well. Lots of 2-3" alewives, with a couple of 5" alewives mixed in. The next time I head out, I will be down sizing my baits. My son Hunter is turning into a fishing machine. He wants to reel in fish every time we go out now. Brek's granddaughter and her first salmon. She is ready to go fishing again already!

  16. We lost one on this one today.
  17. I passed by redeye while they were pulling lines.
  18. Nice job Brek! I fished out of Muskegon today also. My two sons and I ended up 5 for 5. We ran out to 260FOW and dropped in and trolled on a NE course. It was not long after that when we had our first fish on. It was a 6lb steelhead on a Stinger Stingray Prototype. Our next fish was a lake trout that came at 9:35am in 240FOW, 110' down. It was taken on a Stinger Magnum Glow Dolphin. This fish was released. Our next fish came at 10:00am on in 180FOW, on a half core. It was a 5lb steelhead and was taken on another Stinger prototype. I started pulling lines at 11:00am. While I was pulling lines, a fish hit the wire diver. The diver was set on #3 with 185' on the counter. It had an 11" double white protroll with a Siggs Rigs Blue Mist fly on it. This was a 10lb king. While I continued to pull lines, a rigger fired. This was a 6lb coho on a Downrigger down 100'. It was taken on a Stinger Mongoose C.F.* Just when I finished pulling the last line, I noticed a HUGE school of bait fish on the fish finder. I may try to get back out in the morning.
