I have added a new weather feature to the site. It only shows up on the home page. The first time you view it, you will have this display. Notice where it shows "Local Weather". There is a link to click on that will take you to your profile. Scroll down to the bottom and there is a place to enter your zip code. NO ONE can view your zip code. After you enter your zip code, click on "Save". Then return to the home page. You should now see something that looks like this in place of the empty block. Guest to the site see this image when they visit the site. If you have any problems getting it to work, give me a shout. Mike

I am going to side up with MSU for the game this Saturday. Who do you think will win?
-
My mother made these for the boys. I did not see another underdog on Halloween.

Both of my boys wanted to be Underdog for Halloween. What did you or your children dress up as?

This is an open forums, open for any discussion, and this is something that needs to be discussed. Calling a bunch of salmon fisherman, "real moron's", definately will not win you any friends. Do I delete this thread, or leave it for everyone to fire a shot back. Dammed if I do, dammed if I dont. Looks like I be dammed. This post is open for discussion. If it gets out of hand, I will close it. All I have to say is watch your selection of words.

This was emailed to me by a friend. This was checked in by the DNR. It was taken in Van Buren County and measured 49 mm at the base.

I am not sure how the cable and the electronics with the Depth Raider works. My boat is slipped all season. I remove the down riggers every time I leave the boat. Is there anything besides the cable attached to the down rigger, that will hinder me from removing the down riggers?
-
I will be going with either a Depth Raider, or a Fish Hawk. I am not really wanting to change out my rigger cable for the Depth Raider, so I am leaning towards a Fish Hawk. I ran a weekly fishing report board inside D & R Sports in Kalamazoo all summer, and I can get a REALLY good deal on a Fish Hawk. I have until spring to decide which way I am going to go.

We have a tutorial that tells how to upload pictures to the gallery and how to post them, located here.

This winter I am going to inventory my spoons and restock the ones I lost. I am also going to put a hook sharpener to all of them, or replace the hooks on them. I will also be putting new line on all of my reels and greasing/oiling the reels. I have one reel I need to have repaired. Then there is the want list. I have several things I would like to add to the boat this winter. Radar arch, speed and temp probe, autopilot. Unfortunately, these items are not in the budget. If I am able to get any of the 3, I will be adding the speed and temp probe. Did I leave out that I would like to get 6 more rods and reels? You can never have enough rods and reels. Then there are the maintenance/repairs I need to make on the boat. I am going to replace both bellows, one shift cable, and a couple of other things. My boat is stored in Muskegon(1:35 minutes from the house). Any repair I am planning on doing, I have to add 3 hours. I have a friend that has a 27 Sundancer and has a trailer. I am hoping he puts his boat in the water in April, so I can borrow his trailer and haul the boat to my house to do the work. I spoke with him on Thursday, and will speak with him again this coming week. I need to know what his plans are so I can make my plans.

I received an email from our host today. They will be upgrading the software on our server. This may result in some down time, and something to not work correctly with the software. Dear Clients, This weekend on the Deanna server we will upgrading apache from 1.3.37 to 1.3.39, PHP from 4.4.6 to 5.2.4 and Mysql from 4.1.22 to 5.0.45. When this happens some sites may encounter issues with the new versions. If you are one of those sites please open a ticket at the helpdesk and we will assist you. I do not expect to have any problems, but you never know. Please let me know if anyone encounters any issues so I can get a support ticket filled out. Thanks, Mike

Tenderloins and eggs for breakfast? I will be over in 15 minutes. Nice job Terry!

It is bent enough, that it could have caused my speed problem.

Mine is stored in a heated building. They keep the temperature between 45 and 50 degrees all winter. So....my winterization consists of stabelizer, fogging the cylinders, changing the gear oil in the outdrives, and changing the engines oil. I do all of this myself.

The boys and I went for a ride to South Haven after Hunter got out of school. I would not want to be out on a boat in that weather.
-
I had the boat pulled out of the water and put into storage for the season. Here is the last shot of her before she went into hibernation. She will be kept nice in comfortable in the heated building. I will venture up to her a few times this winter to make sure she is not lonely. Some how I managed to hit something this summer, and bent the tip of one of my props. I either dinged it at the temporary dock at Fisherman's Landing, or I hit something while on the lake. This is the same prop I had repaired over the winter. : I will replace it instead of having it repaired. Zebra Mussles...You should have saw how many zebra mussles were on top of the trim tabs, on top of my transducer, and on the outdrives. There was none on the lower units. The moving water while running prevents this. Now where is my list of things to do this winter?????

After reading DIRTY DOG's report from the afternoon before, I decided to go fishing after I got out of work yesterday. I was joined by Redeye(Brek), and a guy from work. We left the dock around 3:05pm, ran out to 147FOW, put the boat into the wind(SE troll) and set lines. At 123FOW, we spun the boat around and headed West. The first rod to fire was a rigger set at 70' with a Stinger standard Freakin' Veggies. This fish shot to the surface, made a couple of jumps, and said "see ya later dudes". 0 for 1 Our next fish was on a NW troll in 165FOW on a full core. The board dove, popped free and slid down the line. This was a nice fish. We had around 7 colors in when it came unbuttoned. Well....not quite unbuttoned. The board slid all the way to the swivel and the swivel straighted out. Lost fish and lost Stinger stingray Killer Dolphin prototype. It was getting near 6:30 when we started pulling lines. While we were pulling lines, the same rigger as the first one starts hammering. The fish hit the slider and did pop the release. When we grabbed the rod, and popped the release, there was nobody home. 0 for 3. With two rods left in the water, Brek was pulling in a 2 color and I thought it had one on. There was a balloon wrapped up in the line, and we thought the other half of the balloon was on the hook. After we removed half the balloon, we confirmed it was fish. This ended up being a 6lb lake trout that we released. It hit on a Stinger stingray Mixed Veggies. 1 for 4 We brough the last line in and headed in. We did not mark any schools of bait fish. The top 50' had a lot of clutter. I am wondering if all of this clutter we saw was baitfish. That might explain why the lake trout hit the 2 color core. I am pretty sure I am having the boat pulled next week. Time to get in the woods.
