That time of year, it can still get below freezing at nights. If it does get dropped in the water to put on the trailer, you may have problems with freezing. I put mine in the water in April last year. The next day, we got 6" of snow.
I only have a power steering pump on one motor. So....I only have power steering when I troll off the starboard engine. There is something that connects both of them together behind the engines. I am not sure how it connects to the outdrive as I do not have a manual. The boat is 75 miles away, so I can not run outside and take a peek at it. I am hoping someone with a little insite on twin I/O's can shed some light on this for me.
I do not have a service manual. My boat has twin I/O's. I can move one of the outdrives 1/2" to 1", and it moves without the other one moving. I do not think this slop is normal. What is the probable cause and solution for this?
Thanks for having it at your house and taking all of our money! I think I gained 5lbs last night playing cards. The food everyone brought was AWESOME! Thanks again Rich! Mike
I am looking for tournaments on all of the Great Lakes so I can add them to the calendar. I have the Tournament Trail events already listed. Once the are in the calendar, they will show up at the bottom of the forums, 30 days prior to the event in the Upcoming Events for the Next 30Day(s) area. Does anyone have any dates for this years tourney's? Please provide a link to the tourney in your post. Thanks, Mike
The Great Lakes Fisherman website has been open for over 2 years. We have all of the posts from the last two years in the data base.
I have some of the forums set up to only go back to the past year. This is done to maintain fast page loading speeds.
How do you know if you are in a forum that has been set to only go back the last year?
Look towards the bottom of the forum where it shows this. See where the red arrow is point to last year? Click on the drop down menu next to it.
You will see a menu that looks like this. Select beginning.
After you have selected beginning, click on Show Thread.
This will take you back to the beginning in the forum you are viewing.
My boat is slipped in Muskegon, so I am planning on fishing the Muskegon, MI - Cabela's Salmon Shootout. I am trying to line up a trailer to haul the boat to South Haven and fish the South Haven, MI - South Haven Steelheaders Big Jon Pro/AM. I would also like to do the Grand Haven, MI - Offshore Challenge Pro/Am. Anyone else fishing any of the Tournament Trail events, or other big tourney's this year?
I need to change one of my shift cables in the lower unit. The engine stalls every time I shift to reverse to dock. I have checked the adjustments to make sure it was not misadjusted. This is on a 1987 Mercruiser Alpha 1 drive. How long does/should this take, and are there any secrets or tips I should know? Who has the best price on replacement parts?
I do not have to work this weekend, and just lined up a sitter. I will be there!
I need directions again. All I seem to remember is to turn left after Albuquerque, New Mexico........
I will bring a pot of muskybob's WORLD FAMOUS Adirondack Salmon Chowder!
