  2. Congrats team fishsniffer, and Ramble On!
  3. Chuck, The tournament is not in the calendar. This tournament is still happening, and I will be there on the 14th!

  6. Welcome aboard Lenny! When you venture to Lake Michigan, do you fish the Wisconsin side? We look foreward to having you around. Mike
  7. Since he did not post it, I will post it for him. I was fishing with another member last year in a WMFL event. I wont mention his name, only his initials....DV8oR. Tim had set the rigger and used a rubber band to hold the slider in place. This rigger ended up going, and we grabbed the rod, only to discover there was nothing home. After reeling in the bait to check and reset, it was discovered that he had only clipped the slider on the rubber band and not the main line. A 53lb king will win the battle every time with a rubber band. :D In his defense, it was dark out when the lines were set.
  8. That should put you somewhere's in that range.
  9. Nice job on the catching! I fished around those islands for bass years ago.....never walleyes.
  10. Nice job Frank! I saw you was online at 4:45am this morning and figured you was hitting the bay today.

  16. May 30th, 2008 WAUKEGAN--Seven people aboard a charter fishing boat that sank during stormy weather Friday morning were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after spending about 30 minutes in the water. All seven are in area hospitals in “serious†condition due to hypothermia, according to Beach Park Fire Chief Paul Tierney. “The Coast Guard are the heroes of the day,†Tierney said. “If not for the Coast Guard helicopter and boat, there would have been seven people lost in the lake today.†After receiving a mayday just after 11:30 a.m. from the captain of the 36-foot-boat off shore between Waukegan Harbor and Naval Station Great Lakes, the Coast Guard’s Kenosha Station dispatched a boat and called in a helicopter to the area, according to Coast Guard Petty Officer Brant Trost. Trost said the helicopter crew located the boaters and transported five of them to Waukegan Regional Airport, while the boat transported the other two to the Waukegan Yacht Club. Tierney said the boat went down about three miles off shore and that he was told that by the time the helicopter arrived at the scene, coolers and debris were floating on the water but the boat had sunk. The captain of the charter had contacted the Coast Guard and distributed life vests, Tierney said. The vests worn by those rescued identified the vessel as the Fin Seeker, a charter fishing boat out of Gurnee. At the Yacht Club, the Waukegan Fire Department transported two of those rescued to Vista West in Waukegan, officials said. Of the five boaters taken to Waukegan Airport, one was taken to Vista West, two were transported to Condell and two were taken to Lake Forest Hospital with Beach Park, Zion and Gurnee rescue squads participating, Tierney said. “It was a very coordinated effort by all of the fire agencies and the Coast Guard,†Tierney said. “They were very lucky,†said Waukegan Fire Deputy Chief Dan Young Story
  17. Here is a video from the trip. As you can see, the fog had cleared up. I thought this fish was on a 2 color with a 4oz dive bomb(I like to run this down the chute). After we got the 2 color in, I realized it was on a full core. malZLDHwvg0
  18. Boy was it foggy! The boys and I got a late start on Sunday. We left the dock at 9:45am. After a very slow trip out because of the fog, I decided to set lines in 80FOW and troll West. We ended up 3 for 3. 1 Steelhead and 2 small kings. The steelhead came on a half core with a Double Orange Crush. One king came on a full core with an NBK, and the other came on a two core with a Killer Tangerine. We made it to 250FOW, pulled lines and came in.

    My Rig

Welcome aboard DarkBlue. Nice looking rig! How has the fishing been so far this year?
  20. If you have never fished one of these challenges, you are missing out a GREAT time. I would encourage everyone to participate. If you know someone who is not a member of the site that owns a boat, tell them about it. Get signed up now before its too late!
  21. Nice job on the catching! Its good to hear that the fishing has picked up at most of the ports.
  22. Dive bombs are a lot cheaper than buying a new rod, reel, and copper. With a few core rods, and an assortment of dive bombs, you can target almost any depth.
  23. Something about the sound of the water starting to boil when the sun touches it, really turns them on! Nice job Tom!!!!
