I have really struggled with this software. The last upgrade brought me nothing but grief! I finally got this working again.

Couple of questions for you SkeineMachine. Was this fish caught in the morning? Why did you choose to target fish in the "out of temp" waters? Do you troll the same, faster, or slower when you are targeting these fish in the "out of temp" water? Whats your preferred down speed? Are you mostly using meat when fishing the "out of temp" waters? -

68-75FOW and dusk was the magic spot for us. That was yesterday, and today may be different. It all depends on the break. I did hear boats saying they were getting some in 50FOW. -

Nice job Randy! -
I just got back from Muskegon. After the the fun we had yesterday morning, I had to go back for more! My son Hunter and I fished with Roy, Brett, and Angie. We ended up 9 for 15 or 16. All the fish we boated were kings, most in the 12-15lb range. All of the fish came from 65-80FOW. We got lines set around 7pm. The water has been warming up. The down temp was 48 degrees down 50' in 80FOW. Tuesday morning it was 44.8 at 42' down. It took a while for us to get our first bite. This was a steelhead and he came unbuttoned after a few jumps. This was on a lime green scaley j-plug on a rigger set at 40'. We watched him jump about 6 more times after he was gone. I think he was telling us we were #1! Our next hit came on a Stingray size green dolphin on a slider, on the other rigger set at 50'. He made a couple of jumps at the back of the boat, charged and dove under the back of the boat. We lost him in the lower unit. Note to self....Check the starboard prop for possible fishing line. Things got exciting from here, and I do not remember all the details. I do remember we had a double and a quad. We were fighting 3 fish when a wire diver started pounding in the rod holder. By the time we got a couple of the fish in, there was nothing on the wire diver. What worked for us. I think we had 4 rips on wire divers. These were set on 3 with 120' out on one side, and 150' out on the other. One had an 11" Protroll double pearl hotchip 11 with a Siggs Rigs Powder Hypnotist trophy fly and the other was a Protroll prochip8 blue bubble flasher with a Blue Mirage trophy fly(This set up went 3 times at 120'. We boated fish or lost fish on Michigan Stingers, stingray size blue dolphin, glow dolphin, dirty white boy, green dolphin, NBK, and Craigs x-mas. The following NITROS also caught fish or went. Green fireball, napalm, snowsnake, electric blueberry, and area 51. You should have seen my son Hunter trying to reel in a 15lb king on a wire diver. I had put the rod in the corner rod holding and it was hammering away, and screaming as the king ripped off line. He got it most of the way in, before he gave up on it. I finished it off for him. I'm proud of my little fishing partner! We pulled lines at 10:30pm and headed in.

Cawabunga Don! Look at the size of those kings. Did you weigh any of them? -
I updated the link for Lowrance in the second post.
-
Have you checked the firmware and checked to see if Lowrance has came out with a firmware update? Firmware updates, are to fix bugs that a system "may" have.

The only thing I left out of this report, was the location. Location was straight out. I trolled a small loop between the pier heads and the pump house. The best troll was a South troll.

All I can say is NITRO! We had several doubles and a triple. Our tally for the morning was 14 for 20, and 4 knock offs. Jim and Mark went fishing with me. We started fishing at 5am and limited out at 7:30am. The boat was docked and tied up by 8am. I was 10 minutes late getting to the boat, but I still got there at 4am. By the time we got all of the gear mounted and heading out, it was 4:20am. On the way through the channel, I was swapping baits to a Stinger NITRO program for fishing in the dark. This ended up being our working ticket, and accounted for 13 of our 14 fish we boated, the 6 we lost, and another 4 knock offs we had. We shut down in 50FOW, and I quickly put the temp probe down to check temps. To my disapointment, the water 30' down was almost 60 degrees. I sent the probe down to 42' and it was still mid 50's. We put the boat on a West troll and I set our 9 rod spread. 3 riggers with sliders, 2 wire divers with flashers and flies, 2 half cores and 2 three colors. We hit 65FOW and the probe at 42' read 44.8 degrees. Ahhhh....we found the break, and turned SSW. Right after we hit the temp break, things started to happen. Things were happening so fast, I did not get all of my information. Our hot ticket by far was a NITRO Green Fireball. This spoon put 7 fish in our boat. We also lost a fish on this and had another knock off on it. All of the following NITRO spoons also went once or multiple times. AEAR 51, Snowsnake, Twister, Electric Blueberry, Blue Wonderbread, Napalm(caught several fish on this), and Blue Eclipse. Our action was mostly on the riggers, set at 55' and 42'. Our half cores went many times, and our the 3 colors went a couple of times. We caught one fish on a Protroll prochip8 Purple Bubble flasher with a Siggs Rigs, Purple Hypnotist trophy fly. About 6:45 were we sitting on 7 kings, a coho, and a lake trout. All of the sudden we had a triple. Cawabunga! We only managed to catch 2 of the 3 fish. One of the fish was a shaker, so we put it back and continued to fish. We picked up another shaker around 7:15am, and finally got our last king at 7:30am. While we were pulling lines, we picked up a bonus steelhead. Final tally, 11 kings(we released 2 shakers), 1 coho, 1 lake trout, and 1 steelhead. All of our fish came between 65FOW and 88FOW. Yesterday I made a post in my "looking for riders" thread. In that post, I said the first person to farm a fish had to pose with the "special" fighting belt. This is Mark with the "special" fighting belt. Thanks for coming along Jim and Mark!

I did not realize salmon fishing was a contact sport. -
Nice job on the catching Jason!

Lots of fish(including steelhead) in close now in 40-60FOW. The temp break was 48 degrees down 30'. Try trolling South out of the arms. Once you hit a fish, make loops through this area. I never go further than a couple miles South.

My wife took a couple of hours off work on Saturday, and also took Sunday off, so we could spend some time on the boat. We made it out Saturday for an evening trip, and drove the car to Grand Haven for the Coast Guard festival on Sunday. Wouldn't you know it, the Mackinac was not in port yet. I got lines set around 7pm, and it was not long after and I was doing battle with a 12lb king. This fish came on a rigger set at 47' with an 11" double pearl hotchip Protroll flasher with a Siggs Rigs Blue & Pearl Crinkle trophy fly. The next fish was a nice steelhead that came on a half core with a Stinger Prototype. At 9pm, my wife was ready to head in. So, I start pulling lines. After I get the second rod pulled, the half core with the prototype goes again. Its another steelhead. I get this fish boxed, and the 6 color on the other side of the boat goes. Its another steelhead on an NBK. I get this fish boxed, and the 3 color on the other side of the boat with another Stinger Prototype goes. This is a 10lb king. We fished 40-65FOW. The temp down 30' was 48 degrees. We ended the day 5 for 5 and headed in before the sun touched the water. I would like to have stayed out for another hour! Next time!
