I had a pretty good year this year. I think the size of the fish was slightly smaller than last year. The bigger fish did not show up till late June. In 23 trips, we caught 144 fish.

Great pictures Andy! Everyone should notice the wood around the gunnel on Andy's boat. It is made out of composite deck material. I pulled into the gas dock behind him earlier this year and noticed it. I have been waiting for him to get a picture of it posted. Zero sanding, zero staining, and it washes right up! I will be removing my teak and replacing it with the composite decking this winter.

Has anyone tested their flies yet? I need some reviews posted on the site.

I was 3 to 4 miles South of Grand Haven on Saturday. How far North did you get on Saturday?

There are still 4 year olds in the lake. There was at least 10 weighed in over 10 lbs. I think there was 3 of them just shy of 16lbs.

I fished the Big King Fishing Contest in Grand Haven today with Glen, Mark, and Roy. We left the pier heads at 6:30am and ran out to 80FOW and started setting lines. While setting lines we assigned one person to watching the rods. About half way through setting the lines, I looked at the center rigger and notice the rod standing up. Hmmmm....I think someone was suppose to be watching the rods. I reset this rod, and procede to set a lead core when the wire diver in front of me starts hammering in the rod holder. I hand off the lead core I am setting and grab the wire diver. I get it out of the rod holder and nobody is home. I reel it in to reset it and check the hooks. One of the hooks was straight. From here I do not remember all of the details. Our final tally was 8 for 9 and we had 4 or 5 knock offs. We caught 2 steelhead, 3 lake trout and 3 kings. Our big king for the tourney was a whopping 4.8lbs. All of our fish came in 90-130FOW. The down temp was 57 degrees down 90'. We fished South of the pier heads. We had a lot of fun on the water today, and we will do it again next year.

Thanks for all of the advice. I picked up a Stihl. I will be busy cutting wood next week.

I am not sure about the where the walleye are....but I know where 1 buoy is. Dont we Nick.

I am looking at getting a new chain saw. I will be cutting around 2 cords a season. What are you using, and what would you recommend for a new saw?
