I spoke with a friend of mine today who took a limit of gills on Gravel Lake near Lawrence. I did not ask how much ice was there, or where he fished.

I saw a picture of one tatoo'd on the back on someone's neck.

What is “mobile tagging”? Mobile tagging uses ShotCodes, or special 2d barcodes, to link people from offline materials to mobile internet pages. It is interactive marketing in its truest form: your customers see something that interests them, they scan the ShotCode with their standard camera mobile phone and they are instantly connected to your mobile internet page. In other words; mobile tagging makes paper click-able. Does anyone have this software installed on their mobile phone? I am looking for someone to verify that this shotcode takes you to www.greatlakesfisherman.com

I have this feature back up and working again. I never realized how nice of a feature this was, until it wasn't there. This saves me from having to visit another website just for the weather. If anyone is having problems with it, let me know. Mike

I have 3 Big Jon swivel bases that I used for less than a year. These are adjustable to 8 different positions. These are like new. $45 each plus $6 shipping and handling, or $130 and I will pay the shipping.

This is currently not working. I hope to have this back up on the home page tomorrow.

I upgraded the gallery software today. This upgrade did not go so well. As a result of the upgraded, I had to unistall the home page modification, and reinstall it. I have to add the weather module back and get all of the links in the navigation block back. Let me know if you expierence any issues with the gallery, or the home page. Mike

I came across this auction on ebay. If you live in or near the Muskegon area, and could pick these up, its a GREAT deal on Dive Bombs.

The site that was hacked was a waterfowl hunting site. www.greatlakeswaterfowler.com There is no reason why this site should have been hacked. I did some checking up on the group that did the hacking. They are known as the Saudi Virus Team, and their website is vxx9.com They have hacked into a lot of sites owned or hosted in the U.S. This could be a retaliation against any U.S. site, for some of the terrorist sites being hacked into, and or shut down.

I spend a lot of time on my websites keeping them up to date with the latest software. I have other measures in place to also prevent being hacked. Hopefully this is enough to deter would be hackers.

There is a group of hackers that is actively hacking websites. An admin from another vbulletin website emailed me on Thursday night and informed me that his website had been hacked. Most of the time they alter a web page to leave a mark. Here are a couple of examples of some of the marks they are leaving now. Most of the hackers get in through exploits in a websites software. Once they get in, they can go almost anywhere. You can have the most secure website on the internet, but if you are on a shared server, you could become a victim. Hackers can move from one website to another via the server. What to do if you visit a website that is hacked. You should attempt to contact the owner ASAP. If you are the owner, you should immediately contact your host. There is a good chance your host can track how they accessed your site. This all depends on how good your host is. If you are aware of the hacker soon enough, your host should also be able to do a restore of your database and ftp site. This will get your site back on line. Once you are back online, you should address the issues with the hole(s) in your software to prevent being hacked again.

I have Nextel for a carrier. When I am fishing out of Muskegon and get a few miles off shore, the signal comes and goes. What do you have for a cell phone carrier, and how does it work when you are on the lake?

I have never fished for salmon with copper spoons, so I can not comment on that. Stinger offers all of their spoons with 6 plating finishes. Gold Gold Hammered Silver Silver Hammered Copper Copper Hammered You will probably have to do a special order if you would like them in copper.

Nick is correct. Here is the rule on posting in the For Sale section.

Official 2008/2009 ice conditions thread
GLF replied to Ice_man_08's topic in Inland Lakes Discussion
Seems like every year we hear about someone losing their life because they could not wait to get on the ice and fish. Some of these fatalities could have been prevented if they were not fishing alone. Make sure you have someone with you. -
My choice of braided line is brand loyalty. Years ago when I was seriously into bass fishing, I tried most of the lines made by the different line manufacturers. After all said and done, I liked the Berkley Trilene lines the best. When it came time for backing on my lead cores, I went with the brand that I preferred while bass fishing. I have 2 seasons on my lead cores with the fireline backing, and have never had a breakage.

It is time I get rid of some of my extra domain names. I have had this domain name for a few years. I never got around to building a website on it. This is a GREAT domain name for anyone interested in starting a deer hunting discussion forums, or creating a porn site. I only have a static page up now to view it. www.doenheat.com I am open to offers on this domain name. Shoot me a pm with your offer or if you would like more information about it.

There are several members who do not have their profiles filled in. Please take a minute to fill it out. This information gives everyone a little extra information about you. One of the blanks is for your first name. If you have your name in your profile, it will show up in every post you make. There is also a spot to put in your zip code. If you have your zip code in your profile, you can view a live radar image and a weather forcast for your area in the weather module on the home page of the site.

This was the banner on the site on Thanksgiving day. I whipped it together Thanksgiving morning. I will do a better job on the x-mas banner.

I upgraded the forum software this morning. Everything appears to be working correctly. Let me know if you encounter any issues.

The Pro Tournaments have a bead that gets crimped on the cable. There is a prox switch inside the last roller that is the shut off. When the bead contacts the prox switch it shuts off. All of the S-N-T's except the Fishhawk, come with a coated down rigger cable that you have to put on your rigger. I was not sure what the affect of crimping a stop bead would have on the coated cable, so I went with the Fishhawk S-N-T.

The Pro Tournaments are faster than the captains pack, can handle a bigger ball, and come with an auto shut off.
