OK.....Im jealous! Nice fish Gord!

I am one happy camper! GLF is going in the water this Saturday(4 April). Because of extra medical bills from the personal injury I had, I will not be taking the boat to St. Joe for a few weeks this spring. I have some things to finish up on Saturday before it gets splashed, so I will not get out fishing on Saturday. If the weather is decent on Sunday, the boys and I are going fishing. Hopefully the weather is decent on Sunday! Here is the marine forecast for Saturday. SATURDAY EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. WAVES 2 FEET OR LESS.

Was the fish a brown trout? I "may" splash my boat this weekend. If not this weekend, it will be in the water next weekend for sure.

You are still allowed only 5 fish per person. This year, you are allowed to keep 5 salmon(chinook or coho), a mixture of trout, or trout and salmon. You may not have more than 3 trout of the same species. You can run your full spread of rods until you have your limit. Just because you only need one more fish to fill your limit does not mean you have to cut back on the number of rods you have out.

Emergency responders called in to extricate appendage in 4-hour ordeal SAGINAW, Mich. - A Michigan man has learned not to stick his fingers in certain places. Victor Harris, of Saginaw, Mich., was pouring a fuel additive into his Lincoln Navigator sport utility vehicle Thursday when a piece of paper fell into the gas tank. Harris tried to fish the paper out, but his index finger became stuck in the gas tank. WJRT-TV reported Harris tried to extract his digit for two hours before friends called the fire department. It took another two hours before emergency responders cut the gas tank tube out of the vehicle. Doctors later removed Harris' finger from the tube. He received two stitches. Harris said he's learned his lesson and won't put his finger back in the gas tank. Story... I thought you guys on the East side of the state were smarter than that?

Welcome aboard Kevin and son! There are some advantages to having a big boat. But.......you do not need a big one to catch lots of fish. Knowing where the fish are and how to catch them is the key. There are lots of posts on this website already to get you started. Dont be afraid to ask questions. Others may have the same question as you, but are afraid to ask. How did you find the website? Usually diver rods/reels are spooled with mono, superline, or wire line. Lead core is not used with dipsey divers. Lead core is another very effective presentation for catching fish. Stop by Lakeshore Outfitters in Saugatuck, and Aaron will get you all set up.

Welcome aboard Chris! Thanks for taking the time and doing an introduction. I live in Otsego, and keep my boat in Muskegon. Have you fished St. Joseph when the coho are in? You are around 1 to 2 weeks away from some fantastic fishing there. There have been a few reports from St. Joseph. If you need anything, let out a shout. Mike

Have you adjusted the sensitivity of your unit? You "may" be able to get your downrigger balls to show up just by turning up the sensitivity. This also helps for showing the thermocline on your fish finder. I have the 50/200 transducer on my boat. Having it set to 50k when I am in 100' or less, also helps my cannon balls show up.

There are no dumb questions here. Other people are probably wondering the same thing, but are afraid to ask. Jim hit the nail on the head on how it works and how to hook it up. I have the Fishhawk, and I can put the probe on any one of my down riggers and still get signal. With the Moore or Depth Raider, you are limited to the rigger you have the coated cable on. My altenator only puts out 55 amps.

Jim, I have an 87 amberjack with the same set up. Let me know if you find a solution that works.
