  1. I am working on making this site more pda friendly.
  2. It would be nice if people could show up and pay. Unfortunately....the lure packages needed to be paid in advance. The deadline for getting the money in on time was May 30th. I held off on sending the payment information to those who had signed up because I wanted to make sure there was enough interest to do it.
  3. Hank, I just called D & R Sports and told the tackle guy where to look. The do have it in stock. The guy I spoke with name is Dan. If you call back and get told they do not have it, ask for Ken Vandervest. The 19 strand wire is locate below the Siggs Rigs fly in the salmon section.
  4. I take full responsibility for this not getting off the ground this year. I got a very late start at putting this together. I am starting the new tournament trail and most of my weekends are busy. Between my family, the and the new seriers, I dont really have time to do it this year. I did not promote it on other websites. I do not make a penny for running this. It actually costs me money to run it. I only do it as a benifit for the members here. The way I see it, if someone wanted to fish in it, they need to be a member here! I will work on the walleye part of this site to make it more appealing to the walleye fisherman. Hopefully this will get more East siders. Mike
  5. This has been cancelled do to lake of interest. Sorry
  6. I am not sure how many other people noticed this. Whats up with the can of WD-40? Are you using it as an attractant?
  7. Nice job once again Phil!
  8. Nice job of getting it done John!
  9. I saw on a charter fishing website, that they offered a charter fishing trip to the reef. They must be fishing in the Michigan waters.
  10. Has any member here every fished it?
  11. I finally got around to spooling this up and using the new 19 strand wire yesterday. I have this spooled on a non-roller rod and without a twill tip. I am living dangerously by not using a roller rod and twill tip. The only way to find out if it will work like this is to test it, and that is what I am doing. I ran a #1 diver with a mag ring as a deep diver in 3-5' waves yesterday without any issues. Unfortunately, the fishing was slow for us and we did not catch any fish on it. This line is very limber and easy to tie a knot with. I unhooked the dipsey without reeling the line all the way to the tip, and the swivel just dangled in the air without and line twist issues I see with the 7 strand. From the little I have used it, I like this lne. Am I going to change the 7 strand wire line on my roller rods over to the 19 strand? I am going to run this line the rest of the season before I make this decission.
  12. This is the last week to get your bird entered.
  13. Nice job Jim. You are breaking in the new boat the right way......lots of feeessh!
  14. Going into the waves today, my diver rods looked like they were doing the breast stroked.
  15. While fishing out of Muskegon today, there was a boat that came across the radio that had broke down in 90FOW in front of the pier and needed a tow in. A boat by the name of Charlies Angel(Owners name is Tyler) was fishing in 120FOW answered the radio and offered assistance. After pulling their lines, and motoring to 90FOW in front of the piers where the distressed boat was suppose to be, they could not locate the boat. Tyler called on the radio for the distressed boat and asked to confirm their location. The distressed boat answered and said they had managed to start their engine and were inside the channel on the way in. You would have thought they might have called Charlies Angel on the radio to tell them they got it started and were on their way in. I met Tyler for the first time at my GLFTT event on Saturday. I only spoke with him a tiny bit at the event. The little bit I talked with him, I thought he was a nice guy. This incendent on the lake today further backed my thoughts. BTW.....Tyler and his crew won the first GLFTT event! Hats off to Charlies Angel(Tyler) and a BIG thumbs up for pulling their lines and offering assistance. Nice job Tyler!
  16. Your daughter must have been born with a fishing rod in hand to fish in that slop. Nice job of catching!
  17. The picture makes the waves looks small. We were on a West troll going with the waves when I took the picture.
  18. Nice job of catching! Just curious.....How big of a boat do you have? I fished out of Muskegon this morning and at 180FOW, the waves were every bit of 3-5'. 180FOW is only about 7.5 miles out at Muskegon. I can only imagine what they were like out of St. Joe in 240FOW. That must have been a long ride back in.
  19. Mike, You need to add the bbcode to your post before you click submit. The easiest way to do this is to open up 2 windows. Then you can switch back and forth between the 2 windows while you make your post.
  20. After fishing the GLFTT event on Saturday and seeing the NOAA forecast for Monday, I decided I would head back out on Monday. Arrangements were made with a couple of other fisherman and the plan was to leave the dock at 5am. Inreeltrouble(Doug) showed up around 4:30am, and I was still prepping the boat. At 5am I called the other persons cell phone and got his voicemail. Hmmmmm....Maybe he stopped at Wesco and was getting coffee and doughnuts for us????? At 5:10am, I decide someone who did not show up is getting a phone call at home. If they are not making the trip, they are at least getting woke up. I make the call and wake up their significant other who wakes him up. I get the lame, my alarm clock is blinking excuse. :angry2: I get off the phone with him, and we head out. It blew hard all night out of the East, so we shut down in 40FOW and troll around out front without a bump for 45 minutes. I decide to pull the lines and we run out deeper to where the fish "have" been. We shut down in 80FOW and set up in the 1' or less waves. 1' or less my ass! It is blowing so hard out of the East, that we decide to troll West in the 3-5' waves. Somewheres around 155fow we picked up this king on a wire diver set on 3.5 with 150 of line out. It hit a Siggs Rigs trophy fly in Bluegreen Hypnotist behind a blue bubble protroll flasher. We made it out to 180FOW before we spun the boat around and headed back into the waves. We breast stroked the diver rods all the way back into 140FOW before we spun the boat back around. We picked up a small king on a half core with a Stinger stingray size craigs x-mas on a half core. We picked up a lake trout on a rigger set at 150' with a Stinger stingray size killer dolphin. After a trip back out to 165FOW, we spun the boat back East and breast stroked the divers back into 120FOW before we pulled lines and headed in. We picked up a small shaker that was released on the killer dolphin on a rigger set at 80' as I was pulling the last line. Our final tally was 4 for 4 with 2 other knock offs. Thanks for coming along Doug, we will get out again!
