  1. Nice job Jason!
  2. There are lots of rummors going around that this tournament is not happing this year. People assumed, when Cabelas pulled out, that the tournament would not happen. There is plenty of backing without Cabelas, and this tournament is happening this year. The MSA website is "suppose" to be updated this week.
  3. I reel the swivel all the way to the rod tip. This prevents the swivel from possibly getting stuck in the rod tip, or damaging it. I reel it all the way to the rod tip to prevent the coils in the line when a diver is removed with slack line.
  4. These nets were pulled today. I was in Muskegon working on my boat when the barge with a crane on it came in. I watched them unload the nets. There was two of them wrapped together.
  5. Nice job of putting the smack down on them Jay!
  6. Nice job Dan. Those drums put up a good fight.
  7. Something about seeing this every time someone returns to port from fishing does not seem appealing. I prefer my fish grilled!
  8. Nice job Jarod! You must sharpen your hooks.
  9. I use the same not as what Ken(Nailer) posted. It ties easy with the 19 strand wire. Remember to put a plastic bead above the knot.
  10. Nice job of catching Frank!
  11. You will get them next time Tom.
  12. I received these GPS cords for these nets from Paul Jensen at Bluffton Bay Marina 43 17 711---86 28 252 43 17 833---86 28 308 43 17 718---86 28 228
  13. I have seen 1' or less forecast, head out to the lake and end up 3-5's. I have seen small craft advisories and it was 1' or less. I have also seen gale warnings and it was 1' or less. When in doubt, I rely on the intellicast wind forecast when I am in doubt. You can check the forecast in advance in 6 hour increments.
  14. Grand Haven is a very popular fishing port for tourists. I doubt PETA(A spark jumped out of my keyboard when I typed that ) will get the lighthouse.
  15. I just got off the phone with Paul Jensen. He told me they are going to try and get out there with a crane barge to pull the nets. They need the lake to be calm in order to do it.
  16. Nice job Frank! Is your freezer full yet?
  17. I want to know if he cheeked them.
  18. I forgot to mention that I remove the sliders when fishing in the dark. They become a real hassle. When the fishing is on fire, its one less thing to deal with when you are trying to reset lines as fast as possible.
  19. I have been seeing freighters running through in 80FOW heading South past Muskegon. Its possible one of them wrapped the nets in their prop and caught the buoys. On the same note I came across a set of net buoys on Saturday night while fishing. The buoys were all grouped together as if a freighter had caught them and drug them. This set of buoys is 2 to 3 miles North of the first set of nets to the North in about 120-130FOW. It looked like a mess, and I did not want to get tangled, so I did not get close to them. I did mark a spot on my GPS, about 200' away. I forgot to grab the numbers when I came home.
  20. You did not mention what you are using for holders, trees or pedestals. I stagger the rods in my Big Jon triple pedestals. The rod closest to the back is set 1 hole above the bottom setting. The middle rod is set one above that, and the front rod is one above the middle. This helps keep them seperated, and the outer lines higher above the inner lines. This also helps keep the lines from tangling on the boards when making turns.
