  4. We took our time leaving Fishermans Landing on Sunday, and motoring to where we were going to fish. At 6AM, we were the pier heads and started setting lines. I was just getting ready to set the 5th line, when the center downrigger with a NITRO Citrus fired. I grabbbed the rod, and after a short battle, we boxed our first fish, a 13lb king. As soon as this fish was in the net, a 2 color core with a NITRO Area 51 starts pulling back. I grab this rod, and after a short battle, we boxed a 14lb king. As soon as this fish was in the net, a wire diver on 3 with 70' of line out , and an 11" Protroll Chartruse blade, with chartruse tape and a Siggs Rigs green apple trophy fly fired. Mark grabbed this rod. It peeled off a quick 100+ of line off before it slowed down. A short battle later another 14lb king. This was 3 nice kings in the box by 6:10AM! From here I lost track of what went when. The Chartruse Protroll/Siggs Rigs combo went 2 more times. An 11" Protroll double peal fish scale with a Siggs Rigs brushed stainless trophy fly went. We took a fish on 2 color core with a Stingray size double orange crush We took a fish on a half core with a Stingray size crag's x-mas Our last fish came at 11AM in 55FOW on a rigger set at 25' with a Stingray size Killer Dolphin. Hunter reeled this fish in. It ended up being our biggest fish, and was the biggest fish of the tournament! He asked for his prize money for the biggest fish after the weigh in. We stayed in 30-60FOW all day. We ended up 10 for 10, and our biggest 6 that we weighed in weighed 76.5lbs. We won the GLFTT event and Hunter caught the biggest fish. Hunter kept the money for the biggest fish. Here is the webcam image of our winning catch. Here is the photo from the weigh in. Some goofy looking guy in a black shirt is in front of the fish.
  5. We(my boys and I) met Glen(Attitude) and Mark(Just Hook'n) at the boat around 4:15 on Friday. I had brought my project I had been working on at home, and rigged it up on the boat. After we had it rigged and tested at the dock, we decided to head out and give it a try on the lake. We left the dock around 6:30 and headed out. The wind blew hard out of the North/Northwest for a day and a half. I decided we were going to shut down right out front and check for fish. It did not take long and we were doing battle. Things that worked: Wire diver on 3 with 70' of line out with an 11" Protroll Chartruse blade with Mountain Dew tape, teamed up with a Siggs Rigs green apple Trophy fly. Wire diver on 3 with 70' of line out with an 8" Stinger Prochip 8 PK Special with a Siggs Rigs green hypontist trophy fly. 2, 3, color cores with Stingray sized Craig's x-mas and Craig's x-mas reverse. Stingray sized NBK on a rigger set at 25. We found what we were looking for, for our tourney on Sunday morning, so we pulled lines at 9PM(We all hated to pull the lines, because the fishing was hot) because had to leave the dock at 4AM, and ended up 4 for 7 on Friday night. This was the last photo taken by the webcam on Friday night. Hunter is really turning into quite the fisherman. Notice him removing the planer board while we were pulling lines.
  6. What port did/do you fish out of?
  7. WOW! Nice fish porn! Nice job on the tourney Richard. Those fish you had on, on day one would have won you the tourney.
  8. Nice job Chris! Thats the best report I have heard out of South Haven since May.
  9. Nice job Justin. Fishing is finally picking up all over.
  10. Nice job Jim! Check for a loose plug wire at your distributer or at the plugs.
  11. Looks like you had fun on your charter.
  12. Nice job Terry! How wide is the picnic table?
  13. Nice job Jim! I was suprised this morning when the sun came up and I saw you fishing the same water I was.
  14. With my phone, I can upload on ATT and 55kbps. If ATT would turn on the 3G in Muskegon, then we would be talking.
  15. I do have another webcam on order that I will be trying out the next time out....hopefully. Anyways......I will be able to record the fishing trip as a video on my computer. From there, I am sure it could be made into a dvd or something. Who knows.....Maybe I will start my own TV show with it. :D
  16. This took a lot of work to get this set up and running. There are a few issues with the set up I have. I have to reboot my phone about every 30 minutes. My webcam does not have as wide of picture as I would like. So.....I have the camera mounted about 4' under the top. The technology is not in place to do a live feed.
  17. Here is the last image of the night as we were pulling lines. There was a couple of instances when the phone locked up and I had to reboot it. If you see a red "x" while viewing, hit the refresh button and it will reload the page. When the image is overwriting the previous image, it causes this red "x". My connection is not the greatest, but its better than no connection at all! Who checked out the webcam today while we were fishing? What do you think of it?
  18. I have been playing with my iphone all morning trying to figure out how to use it as a tethering device so I can get a computer to connect to the internet while away from a land connection. This gives me the ability to be mobile with my webcam. I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING! Getting a webcam mobile was a KEY part of my project, and gives me the ability to do part two of my project! Whats part two? Part two of my project is adding the webcam to my boat. This will be a live feed(updates once a minute) of the back of my boat, viewable on any pc in the world that views my webcam page. If I can get everything rigged and working on my boat today, you "may" be able to watch my fishing trip tonight, and the GLFTT event on Sunday morning from your home pc.
  19. Just a reminder for everyone. If you would like to fish this years Great Lakes Fisherman's Challenge, you need to get signed up now. 25 July is the date the lure packages need to be paid by. If you need my mailing address, shoot me a pm, and I will get it to you. I will be in Muskegon, on the 18th, and fishing the 19 July GLFTT event on Sunday. If you would like to pay me then, you can do so as well. Here is my cell number if you need to get in touch with me. Mike 269-207-8024
  20. This is part one of a two part project. Part one was figuring out how to set up a webcam web page. After lots of searching on the net, and lots of trial and error......I now have a webcam web page. You can check out my webcam web page here, GLF Cam. I have the camera mounted where it is at for testing purposes only. Yep....you guessed it.......its sitting on top of one of my computer displays, and is pointed at ME! My webcam only updates when the computer is turned on. I have 2 displays set up with my computer. If my eyes are looking off to the side, that is because I am looking at the other display. Anyways.....I have the webcam set up to take a picture once a minute. The image on the webpage also updates automatically once a minute. One thing I have noticed, is how lighting affects the quality of the images. Now that part one is complete, I am moving on to part two. I have a USB extension booster cable and another webcam on order. With the help of someone else, I "hope" to able test part two of my project some time in August. I am also trying to figure out how much bandwidth I will need. On to more testing.
