  1. Anyone can make one of these. Visit elfyourself.com
  2. My family and I put this together for everyone for Christmas. Cindy, Hunter, Wyatt, B-Dawg, and myself would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! oXDc26cSjjw
  3. There was some request to add the moon phase module back to the website. I reinstalled it on the home page tonight.
  4. Welcome to the website Andrew! I am looking foreward to spring and having a salmon on the end of my line.
  5. This guys writes a blog for Chicago Now. Obviously he is oblivious to the fact the Chicago area fishery would be the first one affected. No more bass, panfish, perch, and salmon would be in the southern end of the lake. How would you like to deal with this? I can think of 7 billion reasons on why this should be closed.
  6. I purchased mine before they came out with the IR version.
  7. I took this buck on 17 November 2006. It has a 9 1/2" brow tine.
  8. I took my best buck on 7 November 2000 with a bow. I was in the process of remodeling our old house and only got to hunt a couple of times that year. I ended up filling two tags within 5 minutes! The big one grossed 136 6/8, and is the CBM at 129 7/8. He dressed out at 225lbs, and had a 20" outside spread. This picture of him was taken with a camtrakker the night before I shot him. I shot him a 1/2 mile from where the camera was and did not know I had a picture of him until a week later when I pulled the camera.
  9. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
  10. I have a cuddeback, but have mixed feelings about it. Not sure if I should recommend or not recommend it.
  11. This contest ends 1 January. Get your photos submitted before then.
  12. Nice job guys! I wonder if that trolling fly would on pike?
  13. I have a cheap set of fog lights I purchased from walmart and attached them to clamps. MADE IN CHINA! I had to replace two of the lights already. For those of you who are wanting to add lights to your boat, you want to make sure you get flood lights instead of spot lights.
  14. This is a good thread to bump to the top at this time of year.
  15. If they are out of temp, they will not catch fish. OK....in the fall when the fish are staging, you will catch them out of temp. You may also catch fish out of temp first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Water temp is a very important part in the fishing equation! Get them down in the water column to at least 54 degree water, and they will start producing.
  16. The way they taught us in B.E.E.(basic electricity and electronics) when I was in the USN was: Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly I know....seems odd, but its easy to remember.
  17. I have been doing this daily. These numbers fluctuate alot! One time they are all within 5 votes, the next time someone is ahead by 170.
  18. I work in a factory! I learned the resistor color code when I was in the USN. To me, its easy to glance at the rod handle, see what color it is, and know what it is. The tape does not wear off, and if for some reason I change the number of colors on the rod, all I have to do is peel a piece of tape and put another one on. You do not have to use the resistor color codes. Anyone can use any color they wish. All you have to do is create a color chart with what they are on your boat. After a few trips out you will know which is which. Someone can shuffle all of my rods around, and I still know which rods have what core on it.
  19. There are lots of different ways to identify your different lead core rods. Some people make tags and write what they are on the tag and put the tags on the reels. I am an electrician by trade, and use the resister color code, and colored electrical tapes on my different lead core rods. Black = 0 Brown = 1 Red = 2 Orange = 3 Yellow = 4 Green = 5 Blue = 6 violet = 7 gray = 8 white = 9 When I am pulling the rods out of the cabin to set up the boat for fishing, the colored tape is very visable without having to twist a rod around to see what number is written on a reel. I put the electical tape just above the rod handle. In this image, you can see the orange tape on the rod just above the handle. Its a 3 color lead core. If a rod is more than a full core, it will have a brown strip of tape and another strip of tape. If I have a 15 color core, it will have a brown strip of tape and a green strip of tape. You do not have to use the color code I use, and you can get by with just a few different colors of tape.
  20. I would like to add an autopilot for the boat. Not sure if it will happen or not.
  21. Welcome aboard Alan! Thanks for taking the time and doing an intro! I am pretty sure you will like it here. If you need anything, dont be afraid to let out a shout. Mike
  22. I am not sure if it is a good luck omen or a bad luck omen. The first person that looses a fish on my boat has to strap on the belt. Just ask Jay and Mark!
