  1. I have been running Dive Bombs since they came out. They are a great way of having a versatile arsenal without having to have 20 rods in your boat. Here is an instruction video on how to use them. The depth chart for them is in the current precission trollers guide. Through my own personal testing with them, I achieved 6-8' of depth per oz of lead. They will work on any line. However, the larger copper makes it hard to get the pin in.
  2. I do not write numbers on the tape. I use a different color of tape to identify each different core length. ie...red tape is two color core rods, orange tape is three color core rods. With different colored tape, you can identify what core rod it is from 5 feet away.....unless you are color blind. If for some reason you have a tangle and have to shorten the core, all you have to do is put a different color of tape on it.

Never heard back after speaking to the person who took the information.
  4. Sounds like you had a good day with some Great company. Do you have a beagle, or were you the beagle?
  5. I do not use any of the colored lines. I use Fireline as backing on my full cores.

This moring before I left for work, I saw something brown out in the back yard. I did not have time to check it out. When I got home from work I went out and checked it out. I found a fresh deer skin hide with the head still attached. There was lots of dog or coyote tracks there as well. I could see where it was dragged from and thought about following it, but decided to call the RAP line instead. They are suppose to call me back.
  8. Hey Don.....I would light a match and hold it near it to see if it's really gas. OK.....maybe not. Isn't that motor only a year old? Do you still have a warranty on it?
  9. Nice trophy wall.
  10. A bad day on the lake is better than a good day at work. I wish I was fishing today.

  16. I need to find someone to go fishing with me who brings me presents like this!
  17. Yes, the 840 is big and bulky by todays standard. But...I think it came out in the 80's. For its time, it was state of the art.
  18. I fixed the link for you. How come theres nothing pulling on the end of that rod?
  19. The first post asked if it was worth upgrading to the X-4 probe. I would upgrade before I purchased a depth raider. If I had to decided between purchasing a X-4 unit, and a depth raider, I would spend the extra money and purchase the X-4. The x-4 probe uses 4 AA batteries. I put new batteries in mine at the beginning of the season, and change them around the beginning of August. The batteries are not dead when I change them. I sometimes loose signal past 80' around this time when they get weak. This is somewheres around 18 trips on a set of batteries. One of the issues with the 840 probe is that it needed to be turned upside down when not in use. Turning it upside down shuts it off. Too many people put it away without turning it upside down. The X-4 probe has two metal probes that stick out the front. These are used for turning it on and off. When the probe is put in the water, it turns on. You dont have to worry about it not being turned off when out of the water. The electronics on the X-4 probe are sealed in acrylic. There is no way for water to get in with the electronics! There is a double O-ring seal which keeps the water away from the batteries. Notice....I said batteries. The batteries are seperate from the electronics, and there is a connector that connects them to the electronics.
  20. I will take my FishHawk with a X-4 probe any day of the week. I am curious....How much is a set of batteries compared to a coated down rigger cable?
  21. Lets see some pictures of your bobcat mounts.
  22. Thats a great price on these!
  23. Upload it to youtube.com first. Then you can embed it in a post here.
  24. We have a number of members from over seas and other parts of the U.S. There currently was not a place for them to post their reports and discussion, so I created a new forum for salt water and over seas fishing discussion. If you take a trip fishing in the Gulf or whereever, please share some pictures and a report.
