I was up to Muskegon today working on my boat. Muskegon Lake opened up last night! Boogity, boogity, boogity.....Lets go fishing!

What caused it? I had installed some code on my phone so that I could use it as a tethering device(modem) for my computer. This was how I was doing a live web cam feed while on the lake. I let the phone take a software update in September. This update was blocking me from getting my cell phone messages because of the extra code I put in so I could use it as a tethering device. I reset my phone back to original, and everything is working now.

At this day and age, I would think it would be possible to have it sorted automatically. Sensor companies are coming out with new sensors with increased abilities daily.

The Big Jon rod holders are fantastic! One hand adjustments. I use the triples that Nick put the link to for my leadcore. I am also using the standard single rod holders(non heavy duty) for divers. I attached the single to a bigger mounting plate, and also used a low strength loctite to make sure the screws do not come loose. If you go with the Big Jons, make sure you mount them so you have to pull the rod holder towards the front of the boat to adjust them.

I am not taking orders for these yet.

Jason, Thanks for taking the time and doing an introduction. There is nothing like the sound of a big king smoking the drag, and hanging onto the rod. I knew bluegill fishing would never be the same again. Isn't that the truth! We look forward to seeing and reading your fishing reports this year!

Clean the spoon with some form of alcohol(not the kind you drink) before you tape it. After you have the tape on the spoon, lay the spoons in the sun for a hour. This will help the tape adhere to the spoon. The sun trick works with taped spoons you purchase at your local tackle shop also.

The proper name for this knob is called "Cast Control Cap". It is designed to adjust the tension on the spool for casting. Adjusting this tighter helps to prevent birds nests in the reel when casting. I use it for adjusting the tension on the spool when free spooling, not as a drag.
