  1. After I thought about this more, I can understand why they have the age limit set at 12. My kids are good at fishing for a couple of hours. After that, they play in the cabin. I still keep the extra rods in the water while they are in the cabin. What was the verdict on allowing a boat to register for the season instead of each person on board/ ie....charter boats
  2. Welcome aboard James. You will get a fish this weekend if you fish.
  3. Congratulations Mark! Glad to hear Deana, and William are doing well. I kept waiting for a picture to show up as a text message yesterday and it never showed. LIFE IS GOOD!
  4. Great job Bill! Thanks for the fish porn!
  5. If the lake will ever lay down, the fishing should be picking up.
  6. Where is the boat currently at?
  7. The kick off is just around the corner. I see the rules are posted on your website now. Are the registration cards printed already? "Anyone between the ages of 10 and 16 at the time of registration will be entered as a youth. Minimum age for the SSS is 10. Anyone 17 and older must register as an adult." "Agrees that every person aboard any boat, private or charter must be registered in the SSS tournament, including captains, mates, and observers to be a legal participant in the SSS for that fishing trip. Any non registered person onboard, whether fishing or not, will void any fish caught that trip for entry into the SSS unless they are under the age of 10 see exception below. A supporting affidavit may be required by all registered contestants aboard the same boat, affirming the integrity of the catch and also that no unregistered person was aboard the boat at the time of the catch. Exception: Youths under the age of 10 are allowed on the boat as observers only. Number of rods allowed and fish limits are based solely on the numbers of registered participants. " I fish almost every weekend with my 8 and 5 year old. Because they are under the age of 10, they are only allowed to be an observer. Any chance of removing the minimum age for youths? What fun is it to them to fish, if they are not allowed to reel in a fish?
  8. Nice job Josh. When will your boat be there?
  9. The tongue sticking out of Joe's mouth says it all! I would look like that also after reeling in 500' of copper. How did you 20lb fish do in the Friday big fish contest?
  10. Nice job Russ. Wish those coho would have stayed on this side of the lake a little longer.
  11. Nice job Jim! Thanks for the fish porn!
  12. Nice job Jay!
  13. The issues I had with mine were the same issues people were having with the convectors. For some reason they would not fully engauge when I engauged the lever. Set the rod. fish would hit, and the reel would almost free spool. I had issues with the clickers also. Some wore out fast. Some of my reels have a plastic click pawl spring, and others have a metal click pawl spring. This must have been a change they made while trying to address an issue. I do not have any of the new style catalinas.
  14. Welcome aboard Bob! Nice job on the feesh! Add your fish count to your signature so you do not have to type it each time you make a post. Click on UserCP>>Edit Signature.
  15. Welcome aboard Russ. We look foreward to seeing some of your reports from that side of the lake.
  16. I have a dozen of the older style Catalinas. A couple of them have had issues. When I first started purchasing them in 2006, they were $99. In 2007 Cabelas was offering the Catalina and a rod for $139. Okuma has remade the reel and it is pricey!
