had thursday off work due to truck repairs. after replaceing the starter in my truck decided to go sit behind the house in the deer blind that afternoon. been seeing turkeys moving around in that area most of the spring. around 4:30 spotted 2 hens and this big fella heading my way. 20 pounds , ten inch beard and 7/8 inch spurs

i wanted to get the 14 footer out last week and chase some cohos like everyone else but i didnt have enough rod holders to do it so i ended up taking a base off my downrigger and screwing it to my seat which i didnt like. so i got to looking at my boat and came up with the idea to use the ore locks and make a rodtree this is what i came up with after putting it on there was to much space between the pin and the side of the boat which gave it to much slop to turn to much so i made this spacer the pin is what keeps it from spinning

cought this hog last sunday fishing spawn off the bottom 32 inches a bit over 10 lbs. will be back out when the rivers calm back down from the melt off

you can try great lakes propeller i beleive they are in grand haven 1-616-846-2401 this is the only number i have for them. another is holland propeller 616-355-2900 i havnt used either one but was looking up numbers cause i also need one rebuilt

was out on swan this morning and there is around 4 inches. of good ice. bucketed a limit of gills with three crappies mixed in had two tipups out but no flags. ill be out sat. and sun. morning again

about 30 people on swan lake this evening when i came home from work ill be out there this weekend

i have had one of these smokers before and i switched to charcoal smoker because i had problems getting it hot enough to do the job it was intended for

been having a pretty good season this year opening morning went out in the woods and got sat down at 6:50 am and by 7:20 am was dragging this four point out of the woods. tuesday morning went out around the same time and sat in the same spot i did the prior morning. at 8:15am i saw some movement off to my right and here comes this 6 pt. coming towards me with 6-8 does and yearlings with it. also my dad shot a nice doe in the same general area as i shot my 2 bucks this past monday night it was as big as the 6 pt.

even if the two fish are the same size the males most generaly run smaller so it could be a year or two older which would most likely result in the larger hookjaw

road kill makes the best jerky and sausage just ask dirtydog he ate some of it lol

my wife ran into a couple guys at the store this morning that had eight salmon in the back of there truck. they told her they cought them at the dam on spawn. they also said there was a group of guys hanging there fish up off the rail there as they were cought and the total count was 40 fish. this is just what i was told i did not actually see it. but it sounds like the fish have came in with the high winds we've been having

the last couple of times ive been out and did catch fish the stomachs of the fish have either been empty or had a few small perch minnows in them. what happened to the alwives next trip out im useing smaller baits the perch minnows have only been about 2 inches long

throw the stuff up on here for sale you might be surprised on how much of it sells

we were at the holland cleaning station last night after fishing and saw a person cleaning about 30 decent perch 8-10 inches and a few 12ves
