  1. Just throw a kicker on there and you're set.
  2. You shouldn't turn this into an Obama issue. Iowa who is #2 in installed wind turbines told Romney that he better support the 2.2 cents a KWH subsidy if he expected to have a chance at competing in the state. But you're saying I should accept numbers from an enbridge owned wind farm and use them for what will happen everywhere else? Even though everyone else seems to have their act together a lot better and are closing approaching the 5 cents a KWH I should say its acceptable the level of mercury in our fish and any less wouldn't be any better? I'm to ignore that you're not factoring in the 2,000 deaths a year in the united states from coal pollution? I'm to ignore that you aren't factoring the healthcare costs? I'm to say no to thousands of jobs? oh and i should be scared that it should take a crane and a small crew half a day to drop a wind turbine to the ground. and once it hits the ground it'll be worth quite a bit of money in scrap? oh and btw, coal doesn't costs 5 cents a KWH until you paid for the plant. You want to compare what wind costs after the turbine is paid for to 5 cents a kwh? Wind is gonna win.
  3. "In God We Trust" has been on some coins dating back since 1864. Its been on paper currency since 1957. It was adopted as the motto of the united states in the 1956. We don't have a 236 year tradition with "In God We Trust". Our founding fathers didn't have the beliefs that this is a christian nation. This is a nation for all religions. Benjamin Franklin wrote a letter saying it. James Madison said it too. The treaty of tripoli ratification proves it again. If they wanted to adopt it as the national religion they would have. Mainly just read the quoted text it goes over the various things said by our founding fathers on religion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_church_and_state#United_States The treaty of tripoli was passed in 1797. The Bill of Rights came into effect 1791. I argue that the same people who wrote both documents were around & the same line of thinking was around. Sure, they didn't put it in the bill of rights but the argument made during the writing of the bill of rights surely suggested it. Overall, what the founding fathers said should be required reading for all. I'm cool with people who disagree with me. As long as they know their facts & know what our founding fathers said. Most people have never heard that our founding fathers said. They just assume they were Christians and they believe what they currently believe and how could a christian think anything different. Before the 1950's God was mentioned very little. Its only in the past 60+ years that the christian agenda has been pushed so hard. Before that it was all about religious freedom and not about Christians.
  4. Jim, If you think its going to increase your electric bill by 100-300% you're misinformed. It will force the electric companies to not increase their rate by more than 1% a year. If they cannot meet the 25% mandate by 2025 due to the price. The deadline will be automatically extended. I live within 7 miles of a nuclear plant & a gas plant. I am very upset at the nuclear plant. Not because I don't want it. I want them to install a new reactor a few hundred feet next to the old one. The one we got is old. Its not going to last forever. Its time to break ground! It takes a long time to build. With wind power we are definitely going to need nuclear for baseline power. I think its silly to not build up a wind turbines to be used when the wind blows. Why burn natural gas and coal if we don't have to? We have a 100 year supply of natural gas. There is no harm if we use it less so it turns into a 500 year supply. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of coal. I have family members that suffer due to asthma. If we burn it only on days when the wind doesn't blow. That's better than what we're doing now. As long as the mandate is only 25%. I'm cool. They try moving it to 100% or 50%. I'm gonna say "lets get realistic". I think overall this is a step in the right direction. Anyways, This is how the proposal will look on the ballot. Notice the 2nd and 3rd line.
  5. I believe in GOD. I am a Christian. BUT! I believe our country was misinterpreted by Christians saying it is a Christian nation. No, Its not. Its a nation where you're free to choose whatever religion you pick. OR you can decide to not believe in God. You can choose to burn the American flag or burn the bible or burn the quran and not worry about being shot & dragged through the streets. While, I and probably all of you will think pretty negatively about anyone who burns the flag or the bible. We're not crazy enough to go murder people over it. That's the big difference between US and an Islam Nation. Its not that most of us are Christians & most of them are Muslims. Its that we let people choose to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't harm others. They force people to believe & live by their religious beliefs. We shouldn't do that & we don't do that for the most part. I've been called Judah a few times for saying that. I am fine if you disagree with me. I will stand by God & never deny my beliefs in him. I urge anyone who doesn't believe in God to try to read the bible and seek out an answer for themselves. If you can't find an answer for yourself and end up NOT believing in God. I'm okay with that because that's your choice. I would rather have you tell me the truth then lie. We all know there are tons of people who don't actually believe in God but claim they do just so other Christians will leave them alone. That's not right. So, now. There is where some of you you say "That's not what are founding fathers thought." I argue that in 1797 a few years after our government was founded. The United States government signed the treaty of tripoli. Signed by Adams and also passed unanimously by the senate. Article 11 of it said. So, "in God we trust" I feel should be removed from the currency if it is found offensive by anyone in our country. I don't want to force my beliefs on anyone. I also think The Pledge of Allegiance should be edited to go back to the version used before 1954. When a christian group lobbied to have it modified and added to say "under God". That my friends is seperation of church and state. That is religious freedom. That's whats makes us strong. A nation FILLED with Christians that are not FORCED to be Christians.
  6. So wednesday 8pm wins?
  7. Looks like a ton of fun.
  8. Lakers end oct 31st from arcadia south. I'd venture out as soon as these waves dies down.
  9. Click Here I am pretty sure this is the true location. As you can see its way too far from lake michigan. If you go to their website it says they're east of 31. http://www.deepharbormarina.com/ and they list the address different from google which is 6269 Wiley Rd
  10. Isn't that place like 5-6 miles via the water from Lake Michigan?
  11. I would say its plausible.
  12. On an 18 foot aluminum boat I used to angle the rigger off kicker side side at 45 degrees on a shorter arm that was just inside the edge of the boat so you could crash/scrape into the dock without destroying the rigger. And then we had a 4 foot arm straight out the side. The short arm rigger always seemed close to the kicker but I never had an issue. My only issues with that setup was using a spin doctor on that side of the boat. I'd always end up forgetting what was going on and turned it into a nice tangle.
  13. Nice video. I had no clue they would float that well with just the foam.
  14. I'd help you if I had an answer. My guess would be the smaller prop you could run at higher rpm's and you'd go slower. The bigger prop should move more water at lower rpm's. So the smaller one would be better for trolling.
  15. oh man, I know you don't trailer often but you're supposed to back up your trailer into the water not just aim for wherever you parked on the lot & skid the bottom of your boat across the parking lot onto the trailer. Although I will admit... Those kinda steering skills I hope to someday achieve. =) On a more serious note. That is awful and whoever did it should redo it without charging a dime. That is if you're even willing to take it back to them.
  16. 1 king(male) 1 catfish(no thanks) 1 miss Cleo - Glow in the dark - Orange Dots I didn't see anyone else catch anything.
  17. Epoxy it and seal it good and then put marine vinyl on it.
  18. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=70
  19. I pay $7 each time I want to launch. You guys in holland pay $10 a year. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!
  20. Wish I could have seen it.
  21. We got a cigarette boat problem. I guess if you own a cigarette boat it requires you to idle your engines for 6 hrs at the launch. I've gone out & came back on a few trips & saw the same guy in the same spot at the launch. I have dreams of walking up untieing their boat & giving em a nice shove.
  22. I don't have much respect for dam fishing. If the DNR banned it tomorrow I would say "that makes sense". I feel the same way about the snagging run in muskegon with the whitefish every November. You can set lines out on the lake side w/ spawn & catch whitefish all winter long. You can catch fish that are not trapped at a dam. Now that I disclosed how I feel about those type of activities I will say this. There is absolutely no way the kayakers and the fishermen are going to co-exist peacefully. If the fisherman of the area don't get their affairs in order quickly and put a stop to it. They're gonna lose. Everyone knows this but aren't saying it. I wouldn't be against the kayakers. I'd be only for an east race style system. I would point out the natural style systems that have failed & cost millions. I think the fisherman of the area need to start giving reports & filling the shore so its shoulder to shoulder. Get those gander mountain weekend warriors out there. The more people on your side the better. Its short term shooting yourself in the foot but over the long term it might help save your "fishery".
  23. This is from the DNR book. Seems like no help. If you search what joe wrote in google images "Brown Trout seeforellen strain.". There are people holding up that same fish. I'm going to say joe wins.
