fishchallenger posted a topic in Boats for Sale
DREAM FISHING MACHINE!! - Beautiful 22.5' 2003 Harbercraft KINGFISHER model 2225 boat with twin Honda 90 HP outboards, fully equipped to fish the Great Lakes. Awesome condition. All welded heavy gauge aluminum hull, built like a tank (aluminum thickness --> bottom 0.190 / side 0.125). People are surprised to find this is a welded aluminum hull boat as the welds are not noticeable. Approx. weight including engines/fuel = 3 000 lbs. Pre-Flex hull technology, full length delta keel, full length reverse chines and lifting strakes combine for easy maneuverability, sharp cornering and effortless control. 90" beam with an 18 degree deadrise delivers powerful steeper entry and confident stability. 34" sides height. Fuel capacity 70 US gal; two captain seats at the console (some edges on the seats are a bit torn) + 1 x movable bench seat (this one is perfect) for the back; updated hydraulic steering; V berth with lights and underneath storage-comfortable cushions-adequate room for two adults or several children; off shore bracket/swimstep with ladder; dual batteries with individual main switches; on-board dual battery charger; high capacity bilge pump; built in fish cleaning station in stern; rotating remote control searchlight; Sirius satellite radio with antenna and remote; I-Com 502 VHF radio with DSC & 8' fiberglass antenna; Lowrance LCX110 color GPS/fishfinder with transducer + Navionics Gold (Great Lakes + Maritimes) bathymetric SD card; Raymarine autopilot with S100 remote controller; 2 x new Scotty 2116 electric downriggers on black Traxstech rail mounts; 2 x Vector triple rod holder, 1 x Ray Jeff 285 temperature gauge (surface & downrigger ball probes); recently new full canvas enclosure with curtains & back drop (old ones which are still good will also be provided as backup) with upgraded stainless steel tubing; Ritchie compass; 2 x stainless-steel prop with McGard's® Prop Lock (anti-theft device); 1 x fish net holder; 2 x mast with automatic spring-loaded Riviera Kachman reel for planner board; 2 x Canon 12" rail; 1 x fire extinguisher; 1 x Danforth anchor. Boat and motors have always been well maintained i.e. new plugs, filters, synthetic oil & liquids done at end of every season. The boat was used in fresh water only and has always been kept either in a garage or on my boat lift so the hull is in pristine condition. Engines have 1 270 hours on them (four strokes will last about 7 000-8 000 hours before a tear down is needed). Packaged with a tandem axle EZ Loader galvanized trailer with new tires + spare. Perfect boat for the Great Lakes! Boat and trailer are registered in Canada. Can be seen at my home in Wasaga Beach (Ont.) on the shore of Lake Huron, with possibility of a sea trial. Write to me if you want more pictures. Asking price: 45 000$ usd firm ("tire kickers" please don't waste my time!). If interested, contact Jean-Francois at [email protected] or 1-418-875-2555. Reason for selling: not fishing anymore and would like to move to a smaller bowrider boat with cushions to please my wife. ;-) -
I just released an instructional video on Lake Ontario salmonoids fishing. Language is French but you will see nice clips anyway... Large Person Limits on Life Jackets?
fishchallenger replied to Willie Bee's topic in General Discussion
If the overweight person have a lot of fat then it would float more than a normal person... so a life jacket with 30 lbs of floating power would be more than enough. If the extra weight is muscle then that have the same density as water, so will not affect buyancy. An adult life jacket identified as > 90 kg should be Ok for all adults. (-8 -
I use them all the time behind 8" white Pro Troll flashers for Chinook/steelhead fishing. They have a lot of action by themselves, so make sure the leader between the flasher and the Apex is long, if not you'll get a tangle for sure. My favorite colour and size are 4" Stinson. J-F

I use a Tekota 800 myself, on which I have put 150 yards of 50 ponds Power Pro + 600 feet of 45 ponds copper + 30 feet fluorocarbon 14 lbs. That kit works wonderfully, it can reach 90-100 feet of depth when I put all the 600' of copper in the water. (-8

Hi folks! I wonder if you guys are offering an "insurance" to your consummers regarding the catches... I know some will give a half-price charter if no fish are taken. Or a free charter, in some cases. On my side I don't, since fishing is just that, work but also a lot of chance. What about you? J-F
