  1. What works best for us is keeping tx-44 on 400 coopers and when its rough on the 300. Putting the wieght all the way foward on the walleye board for pulling 300 cooper. Definetly 2nd slowing down to pull in tx-44. Right or wrong we put the rod tip in the water to keep the board on its side and the nose up on the tx-44. I catch the most fish on the boards but they where fustrating at first. Think spring!!
  2. Thanks, the quality of fish this year is great. Looking foward to fishing a deep temp break this weekend. Good luck.
  3. 8/24 Am Fished 100-120 fow, targeting 70 down to the bottom. Stand out rig was a wire mag diver, 160-180 back, white H momma w/red meat rig. 2 mph on the probe. 6-10. 8/25 am A little rough in the morning. Trolled with the waves @ 2mph. Again same dipsy set up put 4 fish n the box. Big kings came off the bottom 120-130fow N of harbor, 3 coho came 60-70 down on green J plugs. pm Didn't see any other boats go out. Took forever to hit 120fow, Water set up perfect for dragging bottom. Landed boats best 42" 27#+ fish. 1 for 7
  4. I finally got out on my boat(the only thing i got to keep from the ex). Found a south troll on the shelf 80-100 fow @ 2.5-3. productive. Fish 35-60 down where the ones bitting. Down riggers with short leads and 10 color's with any spoon with red on it. Good luck everyone. 7-27
  5. I took my dad and buddy out of Sterling in the afternoon. We found where the silver bass and sheeps head are. Landed 4 Keepers. Listen to the Tigers game and enjoyed a nice day. Allot of dead mayflies floating. Maybe the fish where full already? Good Luck
  6. Went out of Sterling State park after rain clouds disappeared around 3 pm. It was a little rough with all the wind. Trolled east with waves to our back. Found some fish 25' to 35' back off 1 oz behind inline boards. Allot of trash fish untill we got close to Ohio waters. Biggest fish was 24" with a couple throw backs. Copper blades with purple dots worked well. Good Luck everyone.
  7. Glad we chanced the weather, fishing was good to perfect. Best depth was 80-120' during dawn and dusk. Blue dolphin spoon variations where best on coopers. 9 trips in last 2 weeks, only 1 with under double digit catch, were not that good but the fish must be hungry. Will be back.
  8. My favorite time to fish is during a full moon in the middle of the night. Most times we stick with glow spoons, don't pay attentiont to water temp and look for fish high in the water. We end up running downriggers high like 10-20' down, flat lines off planer boards, the fish don't seem boat shy in the dark, full moon on clear night you can see fairly well. We fish from about midnight to dawn then sleep all day. Its fire drill when a adult king hits a spoon 10' down and 20' back and passes the boat. Good luck and be extra safe.
  9. Set lines at the last bouy out of the Raisin river at 8:30 and trolled south @1-2 mph water speed . Crawler harnesses with 1oz wieght about 100ft behind the board did most of the work. Finished at 3:30 with 14 walleye and sun burn. Thanks to all our veterans. Will post pics after i find my phone.
  10. Hit water @ 4pm found school of coho out side the nuke safety zone in 45-50 fow. Long lines with cooper/gold w red brads thin fish taking 16/?. We had awsome weather and a blast. Good luck all.
  11. MC water was chalk on 3-15 we ended up running to east chicago for fish.
