  1. Congratulations!! That little bundle of Joy will keep you busy .
  2. Ok I need a little advice on where to fish. Last time we were out we marked an unbeleivable amount of bait just inside the breakwall, 1/4 to a 1/2 mile long in the lower 15 feet and 50 to 100 ft wide. So here is the question if the bait is still there do I troll the edges of the bait or should I run out to deep water and troll there. I am lookng for Coho and Kings , a little tired of the browns now.Its a little strange to pick up bait on the trolling rods .The water around the break wall is about 30 to 35 feet deep. When we were out last sunday we didn't mark anything out to 60ft of water. It got a little rough so we went inside the break wall pick up two fish in 5 minutes then found the bait. Both were Browns. This is my first year out on the big pond trolling , so any good advise is well taken. Jim
  3. Josh , how far out did you have to go ,and what depth were you picking up fish?
  4. Russ do you do and charters out of Milwaukee?
  5. yea they were gorging them selfs on alewives.
  6. Captain Russ , chase all the coho my way, its just a few miles.
  7. The Brown in the bottom picture is the large on I'm holding up. Jim
  8. My son and I were out today looking for some Coho but couldn't find them.Came back in the south gap setting the last pole ,I didn't even get a chance to put it in the rod holder, or hook it up on the down rigger,(so its still up top) This brown just nails it . Started taking lots of line because the drag was loose like I said didn't even get to put it in the rod holder. Very nice brown about 10LBS .Get it netted and in the live well and the other pole goes off.Now I'm thinking to myself this is going to be great, Ha the only two fish all day just minutes apart. I now know why , there was so much bait in the water , the lower 15feet was nothing but bait (32 feet deep) for a 1/4 mile. As we are moving I said to my son that pole just isn't acting right. I pulled it up and the spoon had hooked (snagged) an Alewife. Most of the time we were out after we crossed through the south gap I thought there was something wrong with my locater . I guess it wasn't wrong after all. Now if someone would show the coho where they are I could have a little fun with the coho. Tight Lines Jim
  9. Great to see another from this side of the big pond. Welcome
  10. My wife and I were out this morning little choppy on the big pond so we trolled the harbor and the browns are still here, went 2 for 3 riggers at 18ft 70ft back ,dipseys running flasher flies 15-20 ft down. Wife lost the first one , came unglued up top 20 from the boat,on dipsey, next one came on the rigger nice brown 12lbs. Last one came on dipsey smaller one fought harder than the big brown, 5lbs. Four other boats out pulling planer boards, didn't see any action from them . Nice morning to be out, wifes first trip this year, still waiting on the coho to come in. Shouldn't be long ,heard they were as far north as Kenosha.
  11. Maybe my computer shows something different but I could not find anything on 333 TV
  12. but slime and scales on the boat is a good thing,
  13. I watch alot of shows on FSN ,most show a few tips and do show you what they are using. Agreed that showing more setups and how to instead of showing fish after fish would greatly help put more fish in the boat . I have found that if you want that try u tube on line . These guys from getting hooked do a pretty good job. http://www.gettinghooked.net/HomePage_Getting_Hooked.html
  14. Very nice ,got a couple of those lures have to try them on my side of the lake.
  15. Mike I think I screwed it up again
  16. My son and I finally made it out today, been too windy around here. Went 2 for 4, 1 drive by(missed the bait) 1 off rigger @ 17 down 80 back. 1 on dipsy (said to my son I've never pick one up on the dipsey yet , wasn't 5 min and the dipsey went off on my side.)Had one really large one one off of the rigger, came unglued at the surface 60ft back and through the hook. was a fun time all fish came in the same area.
  17. All depends with shows you are referring to .
  18. Thanks to everyone that replied on this thread, all of you were very helpful. My son and I went out 2 weeks ago picked up 2 nice browns.1st time using down riggers. Did you know that browns eat gobies, the large brown had three in his belly. I am sure glad something eats these ulgy things ,check out the video howbig the first gobie is.
  19. I was concerned that running stackers on 20lb line might not be large enough.I am also running 20lb on my rigger and dipsy rods.
  20. this may be important if your going to run stackers how heavy of line should you run?
  21. yea thats a video I would love to see a couple of 15lbs on one line.
  22. Ok this might sound stupid but how do you use a rubber band off the ball when using a downrigger. Are you not using a pinch pad release? Sorry new to all this and sometimes with out doing it I don't quite understand.
  23. My bad I didn't realize it was Caledonia Michigan.
  24. Use a heat gun and as little heat as possible to remove the decal. The low heat should allow the adhesive to remove with the decal,(most of the time) You then should be able to remove the rest of the adhesive with alcohol, (not a mixed drink)no beer will not work either. If you would like send me the info of what you need for a decal and I could give you a quote , Have vinyl cutter side biz (Embroidery ,signs ,T-shirts, heat transfers ect). Just finishing up 2 decals for the back of my boat , Still waiting for registration to come back so I can put numbers on the boat too. Questions feel free to email me at [email protected] or PM. Ken your also not that far from me ,time permitting I could run the down to you. Jim
