  1. it makes scene but my budget is set pretty tight and don't want to lose any hardware on the bottom. How often are you dragging on the bottom? I have heard of dragging balls or bouncing balls for Lakers, but not divers. Does this work and is you lure higher in the water column as not to catch the bottom.
  2. Wouldn't that be the same as using LJ dipseys in a #1 with the ring?
  3. That's one beautiful shot , could you imagine having to man that light house.
  4. I have been thinking about buying the probe ,but its not going to give you an exact depth either . your putting a probe the size of a calculator on the end of you line , so its going to track differently than with out.It should get you close . The price of the probe is reasonable compared to the speed/temp unit they sell. The fact that you can lower the probe and it will read the temp in 5 ft intervals is great. and its recorded. Kell outdoors is one of the company's and makes the Depth Raider too. I have protrolls guide and found that my depths were different than what they showed in the book, closer to what was printed on the sheet that came with the dipsey diver. I was looking into buying one of these probes that were sold buy cabelas but they had discontinued them , now they are back and 2 company have them . Are you the same Rodfather on youtube?
  5. Anyone know where I can find a chart for the depth a wire dipsey will run?
  6. Not quite so bad here, 17 deg sw winds at 30 , A little ice to brake , be out in an Hour.
  7. happy New year, Ice out should only be about 90 days away and counting.
  8. Does any one have any input on either of these units , the good bad and ugly . Thinking about getting one before the season starts, comments appreciated.
  9. Are you happy with your targa, I am with mine except for a few what I feel design flaws.
  10. what was the warranty problem?
  11. Yea I mounted mine to the boxed area inside of the rail on angle 2x2 . Just added 2 risers and swivels . Just need more space to store rods without taking them down. We have 18 rods with the 4 riggers , copper, lead core, wire and braid dipsies. The sides aren't big enough to store that many , Don't want to remove the cushions up front, because my wife and daughter like to layout. Working on a layout on the back just to the sides. to stand them up on the trip out and back. If it works out I will post a pic. May just have to take down a few and put them in the rod boxes.
  12. Nice boat , Mines a Targa V17 WT. Couldn't fit the 18 in my garage. Just a few inches too long. How did you mount you riggers and rod holders on that one.
  13. What kind of Tracker did it come off of?
  14. Still guys setting up around the towers, I like to setup a little deeper to stay out of the croud, or head north. We did very well in a band in about 85fow from fox point down to the main gap.

  15. I had mine just behind the leader on a 7 color. Made the board act like it had a fish on it . kept pulling to the center. I should look at Mikes video again.
  16. What kind of paddles ? What size, do they have fins, like I said I be willing to go out do so testing , I have plenty of both large and small paddles, with and without fins, over a doz SD. The log book from last year didn't get filled out the best and left a little info out. I have already redone the spread sheet to match our equiment to make it easyer.
  17. Just received the book in the mail today. Shredding the package open soon.
  18. were you running the dive bombs? did you notice how much of a pain it was to bring them in?
  19. Russ when we went out with you , you had that small SD that seemed to work good. Thats one of the things I need for this spring. You could also try using fluorocarbon leaders on your flies. It did go to mostly a spoon bite last year . I know I dragged around some mikes eyeflies for what seemed all summer with only 2 hits . We had very good luck early in the year, april though june.
  20. could you just imagine trying to reel in 20 colors? you talk about rubber arms.
  21. The unit you have reads speed but you have to hook up with a seprate cable I believe.I have the x96 and the tx96 . I have no idea what the difference is but they look and act the same. Frank is right if you are sitting still and the waves are moving you will get a readout on the speed sensorand not be moving. As for the graph it self , its a good unit.
  22. looks a lot like my lakemaster Wisconsin, that I run in my GPS from my car.Its so nice to be able to see the contours, and they are in 5 foot intervels.
  23. Russ you want to go out some time after the ice clears ,I be willing to either take you or go with you .I have 2 wire rods and plenty of lead and copper.Last spring we had plenty of luck with the leader being 3 x the distance of the attractor. for the more action hole the jury is still out.
  24. Ok I get that , now how many beads would you run with a rig like that. 3-4 . What are the preferred type of hooks to use up front.
  25. just ordered a new tension cover for the free spool on one of my accudepth lost on the bottom somewhere. and the retainers for my big reels. Do they do high speed gears on xp452 okumas?
