  1. If you couldn't' tell the fishing has been good just look at the launch at 4am , boats everywhere ! Set lines about 430 south east of the green can , had three misses before boxing one. Went almost an hour without any action and headed out deep , 130-160 , It worked for us . 2 bows 5 lake trout one coho and 2 big kings. Flashers and Flies did most of the damage. Ended 10 for 17 our worst hook up ratio this year . Just an incredible day to be out on the water !.
  2. But you know she will be on the boat on Sunday , its our fish in for the month. Besides we are on overtime now , for a few days .So no time for fishing this week , but let me know how you do if you get out. I need to be on the fish Sunday morning , Better yet lets go find them Saturday.
  3. Got the itch in the middle of the week and the weather cooperated and we headed out and fished near the wreak. four color was the hot setup along with the wire dipsy. Flasher flies took 1/2 the fish. We took some photos but didn't have a scale with us for the contest . 2 of the lures we used that evening pulled fish. Hot spoon Double orange crush UV , and the other was a tequila sunrise. Both UV Spoons. we went 6 for 9 on thursday. Saturday evening a little different , Decided to fish the filter to the towers , holy cow ! all the boats! I don't like bumper boats so we tried to stay out on the edge. We started with a screamer on the wire dipsy the would fire 2 more times and take only 1 more fish. Washed lures for what seemed all night before it all broke loose with both riggers firing at once . picked away for the rest of the night going 9 for 13. Freezer is full so I am taking off this week to do things around the house. Was out with Salmon Assassin today and had to work really hard for the fish we picked up. Sorry if some of this is spotty , from Thursday on everything is a blur. Tight Lines Jim
  4. Well Adam You know how my seasons going just like your! Lots of big kings , hope it stays like this all year! Hate to say it but I may have to take a week off of fishing my wife says she misses me? Maybe she will just have to come with! Really enjoyed fishing with you last week , it has to be the fastest I have ever limited out.
  5. I will second Great lakes Planers, Just Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! never had a board jump since I put them on my boat. very heavy duty too.
  6. The hottest spoon this spring for me has been the double orange crush UV in mag. I like these spoons they run well have good hooks , more than I can say about some other brands . I have a few others but I am not sure of the names. I can't tell if its the spoons or pure luck . But I don't think it luck because the other spoons are not taking large kings. other than that its been flasher and flies.
  7. That was one incredible fish. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Do you have the rest of the boat rigged? It would be great to watch the game on the flat screen while trolling for Salmon. Could you put a kicker on her?
  9. I will definitely be posting , one of there spoons has been really hot for me this year!
  10. yeah there a fist time for everything. I just hope this bite continues.
  11. Nice , how has fishing been off the reef in sturgeon bay, My wife and I are taking a vacation in July and I am thinking maybe doing Sturgen bay or out of Marinette.
  12. Hit the water about 430 just in time to get wet , put on the rain gear and get wet again, At least the showers were short .Didn't pick up any fish until after the lake express blew its horn and came out of the fog.Looked really cool as only the top 1/3 was showing. Every pole in the water took fish this morning, LBB, Aqua fly on white flasher were very popular hot spoon for use was a double orange crush UV. 45 to 90 fow , 3,4,5,6,7 color and 2 wire rods along with 2 riggers did all the work. Now that the coho have arrived in numbers its turning into a real mixed bag. We had a 50/50 split ,kings and coho. Tight Lines Jim
  13. thanks One on order.
  14. I have a 400 copper on a high speed reel cv55 6.2:1 , should run around 80 down. only going to take it out if I really need too. For those long lengths of copper you need a big board , tx44 . Wow this thing would pull a VW off to the side.
  15. I have a mount that I clamped on the windshield but the vibration was too intense and it made for bad video. I will try clamping onto the seat post . If you have the link available send it just in case my clamp doesn't' work. Thank Jim
  16. Did you have to make a special mount to use it in the seat post? Very nice video BTW
  17. Had a few days off and thought it would be nice to take my older Brother out and see if we could get him on some fish. Its exactly what we did, Dropped the boat in by 500 and before 515 we (he) had the first fish. Only had 2 rods set at the time too. I'm glad he drives his car better than the boat we zig zagged from 120 out to 150 and back in to 120 . Although it took 5 miles and 7 fish . He was a good sport about it even after I had him going right ,no left ,right again. seems I had a king on that wasn't going to stay on one side.Hot setup again was the Wire dipsy w/ LBB and a Blue dew flasher. all but 1 fish was taken on flasher flies. Spoon that worked was a NBK. I will post a picture later as my brother took my camera home with him . I think he really enjoyed being out and has never been out on the lake before. Lets hope this season of the kings continues. I have never seen the fishing so good out there, and the kings so big in big numbers. The coho on the other hand, where are they. A few here or there but no good size like last year. Tight Lines Jim
  18. Well the trend almost continued ,only 40 min late. Launched the boat at 520 this morning , The fish were out in 120 , in pockets . Largest area was right out side of the filter in 120 FOW. First 2 were on the small side , but the next 2 just what we came out for. Wire dipsy set on 2 out 140 FF with little boy blue, double up with a 8 color Double orange crush UV . The king on the wire turned to to be a real screamer. as it hit it took out 160feet of line . Now at this point the 8 color fires and its a fire drill. Nick got his in as I held mine out for a moment so he could net his because mine didn't like the boat so much and would make a run if it was getting near the boat. Finely get mine close enough and Nick nets it and the net collapses due to the weight. Another King tipping the scales and Almost 20. FF ruled today , LBB, blue aqua, blue crinckle, pear white flashers mnt dew, blue mnt dew. NBK spoons and the double orange crush uv. ended the day 7 for 7 , 1 drive by on the riggers . Tight Lines Jim
