  1. I use the 124 for my wires , and 107 if I am fishing coho. the 124 on the wires dive 2 to 1.
  2. Make sure your settings are for the correct side. They should pull out to the side you have them set for. Sounds like they are set backwards. Your farthest back rod should be the inside and the forward rod should be out. I would run the inside on a #1 and the outside on #3. If your outside rod is the same length raise it a little higher than your inside rod. If its longer it can be at the same angle. I hope that helps. Did you get your trolling valve ?
  3. at that price it doesn't take long.
  4. 20# big game , rigger rods get changed every year and cores every other. the leaders every year too. have not had a break off in 2 years. The ones I did have were due to tangles and getting in the rigger cable.
  5. if you go that route you may want to run bands from the line to the release. I fished with blacks for 2 seasons and changed to scottys because of shakers and lite hits. With the scottys and a 36 inch lead off the ball I can see if I bump an alewife. By using a band you would be able to see the hits you other wise will miss. I have had 8lb lake trout hit and swim along with the boat. Not tripping off the release. by using a static release like that it masks the hits. this is because of the weight of the ball pulling down.
  6. I will second Bretts . flinstone = nice spoons
  7. Well here is why I asked this here. I am thinking about bring up this subject to the Board , we have one tourney in Milwaukee , and there are others near by . but I don't like traveling to a port the day before for a Captains meeting , and then returning 7-8 hours later to check in to fish. I think its a waste of fuel, I would like to see another tourney in Milwaukee , what kind , format, ect . are all being considered . Its a lot of work But Milwaukee is a big port. I know of smaller ports that have multiple tourneys. Like Jim said 200 gallons of fuel, that isnt cheep . Weather by boat or tow vehicle. Any suggestions would also be thought through. Tight Lines Jim
  8. What does it take for you guys to enter a Tournament. Prize money ? Where the Tournament is? Time of year? multiple Tournaments tied together? Something to do with the guys? Large payout?
  9. nice got to get out there!
  10. Thats one nice looking Brown, the brown in gnarfs pic is a Seeforellen Brown
  11. I will drop in one rigger followed by the probe (bare ) opposite rigger and the divers, last will be the board lines , and with fishing hot this year , many times the boards didn't' get in for almost an hour.
  12. Sounds like some bad split rings, I have had michigan stingers with broken hooks . never a bad split ring. Best spoon hooks I have found are on the big lake lures. not sure which hooks he is using but I haven't' even had one come back bent.
  13. Can you say FAST!!!!!! very useable !!!! Nice
  14. another one hooked for life. Nice Job
  15. I will 2nd the wire , and for the braid early and shallow then it gets put away. I would much rather run a couple of boards than run sliders.
  16. Turn up the music and find them fish , you can't catch what is not below your boat! Seriously we move around until we are marking fish.
  17. Bet you needed a crane to lift that cooler, Nice!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Welcome back Jim , missed your posts.
  20. Well it cant' get much better than it is now! Took out a couple that my wife works with and what a morning , 13 for 20 and quit early for the girls . Big fish today, only one less than 10lbs. 11 kings , 1 coho , and a rainbow. We started a little slower than last weekend but it was steady from 430 til 8am. three doubles! came close to a triple but it turned out to be a drive by. 60 fow to 75 seemed to be the best depth, riggers set high early and lower later. Wire dipsys ,riggers and high boards were the ticket. 3,4,5,6,7,9 all took fish along with the wires and riggers. riggers went all but silent after the sun was higher in the sky and then it was all boards. Two big lake lures saw action , double orange crush UV( my favorite spoon), and a tequila sunrise. Flasher and flies out on 5 rods, had to keep changing out hooks as the big kings were bending them. Glad I always have a few tied ready to go. Just wish that the bite was a little later as 3am wake up times are coming hard.
  21. very nice mount , easy on and off with the camera leaving 1/2 with the camera. going to try a new spot next week.
  22. Learning a lot fishing , you have to fish where the fish are!!
  23. very nice video , still working the bugs out on mine , have to learn to turn on the anitvibration mode.
  24. Glad to hear you guys are getting them down there too. Nice Job Josh!
  25. All I can say is (*&&&* *&%$%^) WOW. the lake is on fire right now! Set lines in 70 fow heading north about the towers , from 430 - 530 it was just a blur . was able to get only 3 rods set until 530 , they just kept firing , in the first 1/2 hour we lost 4 and boxed 3 . Wire divers did most of the damage , just as the day before.Flasher flies on 4 and 2 spoons on the high boards. We had 2 big kings get off right at the back of the boat. As the sun climbed higher the fishing slowed for us and we headed off north and moving out to 105-130. Didn't take long to finish filling out limit.Pulled lines by 840am . Ended the day 10 for 17 . 2 lakers and 8 kings. Put the top up and sat back for the 30min ride back . Another perfect day to be on the water!
