  1. Yes every time i go out at lease one but usually two meat rigs. I fish out of St Joseph, Muskegon, Manistee, Point Breeze NY. I think meat pulls more fish into my spread.
  2. Wow Jim you are doing an awesome job. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  3. I have the plastic tubes like some of the flies come in. I have Plano case they go in. I just roll up the leader and stick the fly and leader in the tube. It makes it easy to see the flies I want and does not take up too much room.
  4. Good question. I ice fish a little, cut firewood for next winters heat. I tie flies for fly fishing. Once the sport fishing shows start up I usually go to a few of them.
  5. Thanks, I needed that.
  6. Very nice. What an accomplishment.
  7. Congratulations!!! That looks like a wall mounter to me.....
  8. We run meat rigs every time we go out. Usually two meat rigs. All of our meat rigs are from Captain John King. Our go to is a red double glow meat rig with a Big Als silver holo flasher on the down rigger. We will usually run another meat rig on a Dipsey Diver on the opposite side of the boat behind a Spin Doctor. Other good colors for us have been gold and silver with green teasers. Color just depends on the day.
  9. I shot a 130 LB on opening day.
  10. I put a trollmaster on my boat last summer. It works great. The only problem that I have not yet solved is how to mount the control. It comes with two sidded sticky tape. That held for about an hour. I have purchased a Ram Mount. I need to find out if I can drill holes in the back cover to attach the mount. Over all it works great.

    Nice.
  12. Way to go Hunter and Wyatt, looks like fun. Glad to see all is well with you and the family Mike. Have fun and enjoy your time, kids grow up fast.
  13. Matt, we run meat rigs a lot and have not had any chomped off. When I re-tie them I use 50# Andie. Fished Manistee last weekend (Saturday only). Went 8 for 10. Most hits on Meat Rigs.
  14. We had a blow day today, Thursday. We did manage to get out at 6 til dark. Stayed in close because it was still rough. We got 2 hits on meat. Lost one and landed the other. It was a small one we called dinner. We are planning on getting out early on Friday. Tight Lines
  15. It would seem that the alwife and smelt population would increase with out the predator fish like salmon.
  16. Thanks Mike I was wondering what happened.
  17. Thanks Mike. The Kings seem to be scarce so far. We are still looking. Hoping after this blow we can find some and the elusive 30#.
  18. Nice job. Fun to see the lead core working.
  19. Today we decided to stay in close early in the morning and see if we could get some kings in the 80 to 120 fow range in front of the port. Stiff wind out of the west made conditions less than ideal. We trolled around for about 2 hours and picked up a few dinks. We did have one nice steelhead on but had a technical issue with net operations. Oops. We ran back to our marks from yesterday and had a few more hits but only managed to land one fish today. Nice Steelhead. We had a couple that just would not stay buttoned. The wind started to pick up by noon so we were off the water. Tight Lines.
  20. We fished in the rain and got started about 12:00 noon in search of some big kings. They have been elusive this trip so far. We went to some old marks to the east of the port but came up empty. Slowly worked our way back to the area we were yesterday and again picked up 5 steelhead and 2 kings. The dolphin brothers did their magic again. No fish of any size, steelhead 6 to 9 lbs and kings in the low teens. We landed a few smaller fish and released them. We found these fish out deep by the 27 to 30 line. Here is Brady with a nice King Tight Lines
  21. Nice job Andy. Looks like a great vacation. Lots of fun with the family
  22. We drove to Point Breeze NY on Saturday and set up camp. We got on the water by 4:00pm. Once on the water we realized I didn’t bring the probe. We set up on a NW troll from 80 fow. We ran one of our go to setups on the starboard rigger. Our Red Meat Rig with a Big Al’s flasher. It didn’t take long for that to go and we soon put a nice 6lb salmon in the box. We stayed on our NW course and picked away at them. We ended up the night with 5. The last one hit as I was taking the board off of the 10 color. That was the biggest king 15.5lb on a carbon 14. What worked: Red Meat Rig Big Al’s flasher 42nd spoon BTI UV flasher and meat rig Nuclear ping glow fly on a SD Tight Lines
  23. Thanks for the report Richard. A couple of us Michigan guys are coming to The Oak for a week of fishing on Saturday. I always love to read your posts.
  24. Not me Mike, I have a life.
  25. Paul, what ever one you go with it is a bit pricey. I can tell you since I started using a Depth Raider several years ago my catch rate went way up. It will help you to eliminate unproductive water. The Fishhawk X4 is a newer unit. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
