  1. Was very good today. You got a choice of bigger fish inside and not as many or big numbers and smaller fish way out right now. Started in the 01's and 37's and went west. Took it out to the 45's and turned back in and were done in the 40's. Got our limit, had around 30 bites. Lot's of fish escaped. We got 9 steelhead, they were jumping today. Half cores, fulls, 200 and 300ft coppers. Riggers 50 to 70 down. Mag lo divers out 115 and 125. Hi divers out 140ft. It was a spoon bite. Moonshine- green jeans, mongolian beef, bloody nose, moonshine, and happy meal. Yeck- lightning, verdict, mixed veggies, and lemon ice. Good luck!
  2. Probably should regain my composure. Duck boat trolling....That used to be me 30 years ago. Had 2 homemade downriggers with 2x6 frames, washing machine pulleys and a nail to set your depth. Had a simple round flasher depth finder like they use for ice fishing now and 2 rods with j plugs. At least we lived in a nice place.
  3. Thanks fisherman5 lol:lol::lol::lol: I've seen some of that before :lol::lol: I'm rolling on the floor:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: My tummy hurts:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Here's more details on the program, 3 riggers down 21 to 28 ft with 100 ft leads, regular moonshines mean green, night crawler and dancing anchovie. Hi diver out 75 ft with a silver streak yellow tail and another out 65ft with a mag moonshine NBK. 2 half cores with yeck verdicts. Had a couple spin doctors and plugs out at times and they didn't take a hit. Later we put out a yeck lemon ice on one of the halfs and it took one. Supposed to be windy and rough tomorrow. Good luck!

The fish are still inside again today, 3 of us got 11, same program as yesterday. All nice kings, there are some big ones coming in, here's a pic:
  6. Been here all week, fishing was as reported on the public reports last weekend for us too. Things picked up the last couple days. Thursday, we ran offshore to the 44's to 46's out a little south and got our limit of 10, kings, coho and 1 steelie. Spoons from half cores down to 90 ft on riggers. There have been some great numbers on a lot of boats offshore. Today, it was rought so we set up at the pier heads and hit a double, ended up 11 for 15, let one go for 2 of us in the boat, had 2 doubles and a triple, that was fun. It was reg, moonshines and a new spoon, a yeck verdict, was hot on half cores. We stayed inside within a mile of the pier. A lot of fish in there now. Cold water. I'm letting the members know here but hope you'll respect I'm not putting it on the public forum.
  7. Only 200 general tags for our area, good luck on the draw. I'm in too. They pattern better in the fall if you can find where they are feeding. I like a kee kee run call in the fall. They don't come to a call very well but it helps to locate them. Here's a good link:
  8. Nice report Matt, are you looking forward to a blow day yet?
  9. Nice job Adam on the full box! Looks like your having a good season on the bay.
  10. We fished from Thursday to Sunday. Started out slow and got better everyday. Got 2 on the bank and inside it from the point north to the 7's. Friday we ran down to the little point and fished from the dunes to south of the point and got 4 for the ladies tourney. Saturday we went back to Little Sable and got 3 on the bank there then we headed offshore to the 41 line and started hitting fish. We had double digit bites but only landed 7. On Sunday, we went offshore off the project and fished the 39's to 41's working north. Double digits bites but only landed 7 again. We were hitting a lot of steelhead and coho's offshore and not keeping them hooked up. Ended up 28th out of 68 boats. It was a spoon bite the first 3 days and then rotators started to work on Sunday. Good rigs were: Yeck lemon ice on a 225 coppers, moonshine green jeans on 300 coppers, moonshine oscar on a 100 copper, white blade/green tape spin doctor and a green fly and a chrome green blade spin doctor worked on riggers down 72 and 82 ft. A black momba meat rig on a 1-1/2 lb out 240ft. A mag fire and ice moonshine on a rigger down 65. Carmal dolphins on a full core and 225 copper. I'm headed back this weekend, good luck.

  12. Happy Birthday Terry!
  13. Yes, we are on Steve's boat in slip B27. We are not fishing the Ruby, starting out of Pentwater and fishing there then headed to Ludinton to the marina after fishing. We are fishing the ladies and men's tournies Fri to Sun.

  14. Nice job Matt, are you going to be in Ludington for the tourney next week or working in Manistee?
  15. Nice job Tom and Pat. Stayed home on the lake this weekend, first time we didn't go north for the 4th in many years. We are hauling the boat to Ludington next weekend. Your neighbors launched some great fireworks Sat and Sun.
  16. IMO, frozen salmon after 3-5 months is yuk. I never freeze any until the end of the season and then not much, just enough to last a few months. For long term storage, canning is the way to go.
  17. I'd go 200 or 250, you'll cover the depth range between your full cores and the 300 copper. If you change the full core to 13 colors, go 250 on the copper.
  18. Thanks for the report.
  19. Erik, glad your on the mend and the worst is behind you now, better days and good times ahead!
  20. I'm in if at Ludington, my calendar is full every weekend from July 9th to week after Labor Day with crews and the tourny at Ludington. If at Manistee, I'd try to make it up for a get together after fishing depending on the weekend and who's on my boat. Some just fish and leave and some hang out and we go golfing or party in the afternoon.
  21. Thanks for the report!
  22. Thanks for the report!
  23. Nice job Aaron in tough conditions.
