  1. I'm concerned. One thing I've noticed is the large number without adipose fin clips. Did we have a lot of natural reproduction 2 and 3 years ago resulting in the high catch rates? Sure seems to be a load of salmon out there this season. I'm supporting stocking cuts even though the science is not precise behind them. I would rather be conservative and keep the Lk Mi fishery healthy and strong versus risking a collapse like Lk Huron. If this is the wrong decision, we can always increase plants later. The fish this season appear to be chunky and healthy but 18+ pounders are rare. I think the average size is down slightly from last year from my casual observations. One thing for sure, this year has to go down as the best June/4th of July fishery ever throughout the lake. All the ports are doing well.
  2. Nice catch and I'm glad you made it back in safely.
  3. Welcome Dave, great to have some Canadian's here to keep us posted on your side of the pond. I think you'll find we have a great community of helpful people here and we welcome your participation!
  4. Glad it worked out for you Tony, maybe I'll see you up there. I'll be around a lot the rest of the summer, I have 3 weeks of vacation up there the next 2 months and will be up every weekend.

  6. Nice pics, would be great to Lk Huron come back. Sounds like there was a decent spring fishery this year from reading internet reports.

  15. Fish were snapping today, we had 16 in the box at 7:10 AM, then it slowed down and we pulled lines at 10:30 AM with 19. We lost a few down the stretch trying to get one more for a limit. Everything got hit. Half cores, full cores and 225 coppers with spoons. riggers from 40 to 60 down most of the day but we dropped 2 down to 80 and 100 ft and got bit as couple times later in the day. Best spoons were moonshine blue lemon, do de k, green jeans, dancing anchovy, carbon 14, yeck lemon ice, pro king fireball. We had 8 in spin doctors on the divers and 1-1/2lb out 125 to 140 ft. Chrome blade mt dew/blue fairways fly and chrome blade blue bubble/blue bubble fly were best.We fished north, 120 to 150 ft most of the day. Nice to get back to fishing blue water, couldn't get out in June. We will be fishing every weekend and 3 weeks vacation now till late September so if your in Ludington, give us a shout. Some nice kings, the box was heavy
