  1. Sure has been a strange fall, weather has been some of the worst in years for cold and rain. Hopefully we get some mild spells this winter for some steelheading.
  2. Welcome back, not many still trolling now but it will pick back up in the spring.
  3. Welcome to GLF!
  4. Nice, need to swap a rod for my gun soon.

  6. Nice catch!
  7. We started off in 240 fow of water off the project and trolled SW out to 450fow. Went a long ways until our first bite after sunrise but we lost that one. Around 400 fow, we boated a double and then a 3rd so we turned around and worked that spot for a while with no more hits. Ended up 3 for 5. Had a warbler visit us for a while in the boat. Fished came on DW super slim 2 face on a rigger down 60. A high diver with a kevin's girlfriend and pickled sunshine fly out 200ft and blue bubble spin doctor and fly on a hi diver out 180.
  8. Link here with a phone number to their office and a map. Waterfowl is closed for a big chunk of rabbit season but check with the office for the rules there. http://www.michigandnr.com/publications/pdfs/huntingwildlifehabitat/sga/Allegan_SGA_Fennvillefarm_unit_map.pdf
  9. Nice to get some king action, the size increase this year is great but they have cost me some tackle this season too.
  10. Thanks for the report!
  11. I have a lot more backer on all my cores and coppers. Some of the big kings this year are making long runs up to 500 ft for us and I've heard of longer on other boats this year. Power pro slips a lot on board clips, I used to use it as backer but would splice in 50ft of mono to attached to the boards. Now I try to put 800-900 ft of mono backer.
  12. I spent last week in Ludington. Fishing is decent but the number of kings are down. There are some huge kings from 20 to 30lbs + caught every day. Here is a report of our last 3 days. Friday 8-10 was our best action of the weekend. We went offshore off the project working 350 to 540FOW. We had double digit hits but lost quite a few and landed 7. It was a mix of steelhead, coho's kings and Lk trout. The fish were coming from 40 to 70ft deep. We went back that area on Saturday and only had 8 bites but we landed 7 of them. On Sunday, we decided to go north and fish off the point but our spread on a first troll north was not good and we did not lift a rod. Most other boats hit 1-5 kings that day. That area was producing some nice kings in the first hour but got really tough after sunrise for the boats fishing there earlier that week. Once the sun got up, we pulled lines and ran offshore off the point to the 39 line hoping to find some action like we had south. We trolled southwest from there to the 45's out and got 2 kings, one 20lbs+ and the other much smaller. That offshore water to the north did not hold the fish the south waters did earlier that week. We got a 20lb+ king everyday offshore so that is a good sign for the coming weeks. Our best rigs offshore were a 150 copper with a DW double orange crush. 225 copper with a DW super slim superbread. A 300 copper with a yeck blue holographic dolphin. A low diver out 110 ft with a 10inch DW Kevins girlfriend spin doctor and green gasoline meat rig. A high diver out 200 ft with a 8in Kevins girlfriend and prickled sunshine fly. Riggers at 55 with a moonshine sarge, at 50 feet with a mag big jon cosmos spoon with a regular cosmos stacked 10 feet above it both went a few times. A DW super slim double orange crush as a free slider on a 70 ft rigger was also good. We only fished the morning and did not fish evenings. Good luck!
