  1. Thanks Jim.
  2. I tried the mongolian beef and didn't notice any change in success, but then I bought the dancing anchovy and holy cow did it take fish! After that, tried the flounder pounder and it was also good. Those are the only two I've tried, all in the magnum size.
  3. It mostly depends on how low the boat sits in the trailer. Some trailers carry it low, and others don't although I think 7' would probably be out of the question for any trailer.
  4. +1 on the panty ho, and had really good luck with the kevorkian glow but run it DEEP.
  5. The physics of your leader providing more resistance makes sense. How come we never thought of that?
  6. And, if I remember right Erik, you were the first one to find them out deep early in the spring.... Lets hope you can do it again.
  7. Is there a ground fault somewhere in the circuit? Sometimes they tie them into circuits and then put the actual gfi outlet in the basement. Check all your gfi outlets and see if one is tripped.
  8. Depth raider and sub troll both have coated cable with an antenna that goes on your downrigger. To disconnect you simply unplug the rca and leave the cable run from your display to the rigger in the boat (usually hiden). The fishhawk doesn't use the coated cable on the rigger (which is nice) but you have to have a transducer mounted to the back of the boat. To disconnect you don't need to do anything, but you still will have that transducer mounted on the boat. They all work fine, I would say in your case it's the option of using a coated cable but when not in use the boat is clean. For the fishhawk there's no rca cable but your boat will always have that transducer mounted. Hope this helps.
  9. Don't forget different sizes too. There were a few times where I switched to all super slims and really filled the box later in the day.
  10. +1 on southtroll's answer. First thing I thought about was turning too sharp with the copper on the inside. It's the only time I've scratched bottom in that deep of water.
  11. I'm at 4 on most of mine and haven't had any break offs.
  12. Can't go wrong with Dave. I'd be willing too so feel free to keep in touch with Jo's
  13. Great thread here and learning alot. Thanks
  14. That does look like the ticket for fish. I don't know anyone that uses it though so keep us informed.
  15. I've run a hi and low dipsey before but have always been scared of the hi diver getting into my copper on a board. Let say I have a low diver 124mm walker on wire set at 1 and out 225 or so. I then have a hi diver on a 107mm walker set at 3 on braid and out 150 or so. If I want to run 300' of copper on the inside planer on that side, do I need to worry about them getting together? Thanks
  16. I've actually been out once and ran short on rods for coho. Took a longer, floro leader and put it on the end of the braid and ran a long flat line for fish and it took as many as the mono.
  17. Done here.
  18. Super easy to do. It'll take you maybe 20 minutes for the first one but once you get the hang of it you will wonder why you waited so long. Here's a good link for a reel rebuild. It's the 50h so the reel is a little bigger but schematically the same. That site is a great place to look if you're ever interested in the insides of reels. They are salt water so they usually grease their drag washers and I think in freshwater you don't need the grease. http://alantani.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=46pnco9cnjrcffit85m6j5gbl4&topic=18.0
  19. Awesome, thanks a bunch except my wife isn't going to be very happy since that just blew my plans for today.
  20. Well, I'm addicted to these now. Must be the middle of winter...... Anyway, is there any other videos like this out there I could watch? Maybe 2011 of the 333 stuff?
  21. I got marine grade from a local marina. It was Murray Lake Marina over here, but I'm sure most of them have it if they redo pontoon boats. Funny thing was it was cheaper there than any of the lumber yards.
  22. I love the idea of an honor system for a low keyed tournament!!!
  23. Awesome, thanks for doing this!
  24. I might be in if the timing works out. Have never done a tourney though.
