  1. Only one fish, but still a great job with all the updates working.
  2. That's a real nice brown. Good job.
  3. Nice job with the spoons.
  4. Wow, what a great project Jim. I know you'll feel a HUGE sense of accomplishment when you get that first fired up in the water!!!!
  5. A great start for the year still.
  6. Fished out of New Buffalo this morning. Hit the pier head about 7:45 and headed south. Ended up with 5 fish total, 2 steelheads and 3 coho. Just picked away at them until about 1 and had to get off. Anywhere from 2 color on up to straight mono. Mostly rapalas but did get one coho off a FF. All in all, not a bad start to the year.
  7. Great start of the year.
  8. I bought the parks thing for my truck plates and now have that "P" on the tab. With the state website being so friendly to use, I can't seem to find which launches that'll get me in for free and which ones have a fee. I know the Port Sheldon launch is free but what others from New Buffalo to say Ludington are free does anyone know?
  9. I have a smallish dry bag for canoeing that I use. I put the normal stuff in it like the extra radio, flares, whistles, rope, and an orange flag. I then took my bag to the neighbors pool and added cut up noodles in the bottom until it would float well.
  10. Would love to look at the boat but every time I go on it says I need an account name and password......
  11. Whenever I'm in the outdoorsman (which is never enough), I'm always surprised at their excellent pricing. Not only great service but very reasonable pricing.
  12. Their pricing is consistently much lower than others.
  13. Ok, so maybe I should change my question. I've got one setup to start with copper. I typically run 2 riggers and couple of dipseys then a 5,7,and full core of lead. If I mainly fish st. joe, holland, port sheldon, muskegon, and whitehall. What would be my best setup for the first copper (32 or 45) and length? Thanks
  14. Hi, I'm looking at finally adding a copper setup to my arsenal. I just bought one of the upgraded Okuma 55's from Tuna Toms, and planning on finding one of my poles that have some bigger eyes. I don't have any copper wire and wanted to see if anyone out there had 300' or so of 45 pound they'd sell me since I'd rather not buy a whole big roll of it for my first setup. If I do have to buy, do you recommend blood run or torpedo to get it from and why? Thanks
  15. I would think that would work. Like I said, my hottest bait that day was a x14 husky jerk which is about 6" I think. I tried a Sebile bait I had that was about the same length but triple jointed. No takers but I still think my logic was ok. Looking back, maybe the triple joint needed a slower speed. I think the jointed x rap shouldn't be any more speed intolerant than a j11 or j13 rapala which are hot early in the year too.
  16. Tried one out of St. Joe last May or so. I thought it would work since we were taking fish with Rapala's and such, in fact my best bait at the time was a large husky jerk. Ran it for 2 or 3 hours at various depths and didn't get a bite. Maybe try again this year, and maybe it was a speed thing but I won't count on it producing.
  17. The boat I'm purchasing has a couple of the older Cannon Digitrol II on it. They appear to work fine and seem in pretty good shape. I know the control pads sometimes go out and they aren't replaceable but I was wondering how good are these unit to use? Should I stick with them or try to get some money off the boat by not including them in the sale? Thanks
  18. Dave, your arms must look like Popeye's.
  19. There's GPS numbers for where the nets are, or better yet where the nets are supposed to be. I'd say keep a sharp lookout but if you ask locals they'll tell you most of it too. I'd love to tell you where they are but they seem to change every year. It's not that bad though, once you know their rough locations it's pretty easy to spot.
