    +1 on the trim renu but it might make the reel a little slick in that area. How about a permanent marker for the chips in the graphite?

    Had some friends go out over the weekend. They only have a 14' boat and can run 3 lines but they caught 2 steelies each time they went out in about 18 FOW.

    One of the joys of having a small boat is being able to trailer it wherever you think is good. I commonly fish from New Buffalo up to Ludington depending upon where the fish are, and how things are going. If you want to pick one port any of them have their pluses and minuses depending upon what you're looking for.

    Welcome. It's pretty much a big bowl from whithall south, so no structure. Watch out for the nets.

    Got out of Holland about 2 pm. Went out to about 180 and set up. Got 2 rips on a 5 color with tequila sunrise spoon but both times couldn't get the fish near the boat. The wind kicked up and the waves started looking uncomfortable for my 18' open boat so we headed into the shallows. Ended up taking 3 fish in about 18-25' of water. 1 coho on an orange opti spinner and fly. 1 nice brown on a perch rapala. 1 very large steelhead (16 pounds) on a blue rapala. I sure thought it was a king by it's body shape and size but after seeing the white mouth and counting the anal fin rays there were only 10. Waves got too big after that and we had to skinny into the port to go home. It's been a great start to spring break but unfortunately it's family time for the rest of the week at great wolf lodge.

    Not a fan of Cabelas. Used to be 15 years ago when they actually had the best prices but now they are just like any other LARGE retail chain.
