Dont ever buy a boat with out a water test. A load on a motor totaly changes the dynamics of the engine and gears. I know from experiance. Buyer be ware Steve

I have a 300' and a 150' copper reels that I am planning on putting on ugly stick 6'6" M/MH rods. They will be the only rods on planner boards. Should I be looking for lighter or longer rods or are these Ok to use. Steve

I just have the factory clips I was planning on looping the braid around the clip twice to get it to hold. Or is there a better replacment clip out there I need I have problems with the clips holding big jon mini discs and walleye spoons. Thanks Steve

OK I just bought my copper reels And rods and got them all spooled up to try in 2 weeks. My last question is can I run flashers and flys off them or would that be 2 much drag for my walleye boards. Steve

Thats a nice bunch of fish. The only time ever get 40 fish is if 30 of the are sh*tshead. Steve -
It sounds like 2 of my crew members will be backing out I should know by this monday for sure. we will have probably have 2 seats open on our boat if you still want to fish. Steve

Just out of curiosity what time do you guys head for the lake. I usually like to be out in the dark and set up in the daylight (walleye). Or should I be fishing before light. And if any of you guys fish friday night what time should I head out. I was thinking if setting lines Around 5 and being back to the ramp around dark. Thanks Steve

Thanks I will be using shorter leads this year. Last year I was only running DRs so I had nothing to tangle with out side. This time I am going to be tring the whole package so avoiding tangles will be my number 2 priority after getting a fish or 2 for the kids.

heres another newb question. Last year i was running my leads off the ball like 50 -60' Is this wrong or just preferance. I wanted to run shorter leads but was affraid the ball disturbance would deter the fish. Steve

I never miss supper Thats what I was thinking And its not that much more Thanks Steve

Is it easier to use the nickel plated copper over regular copper. I am spooling 2 more copper rods and was wondering if the super copper os a little more forgiving as far as kinking. Thanks Steve

Instalaunch also has a cleaning station that works out OK. There is a nice one right at the launch If I remember correctly.

Do plugs dive at all. Last year I ran a DW plug off the ball because I thought they dove a little, so I didn't want them to dive into the ball line. I usually seperate my stackers by 15- 20 ' And the top rods are run out of rod holders pointed out over the water at a 45 angle and the bottoms are turned inside the riggers. I just started doing this last year and managed a few with out any tangles but I am sure they will becoming. Thanks Steve

Last year when I started out I started with 2 dipsy rods and 2 core rods. In addition to stacking DRs. And good luck if you can stop at 500. It will be amazing were you'll get money once your fishing. Another good sitte is fishdogcompany.com They seam to have the best prices. I also get some good stuff from brett's.

I am heading to manistee in july for the outing. This will be my 2nd time fishing Manistee. Last year I could only manage to get the DR set with stackers. I think I may have gotten the hang of deploying my walkers ( Thanks to Paulywood). What should I use in july. I plan on running regular spoons on my 150' and 300' copper. On the walkers I am going to try spin doctors and flies and j plug. On the Dr I will have 2 Flashers and flies stacked on one rigger and a j plug and mag spoon on the other rigger. Is this a good start or does anyone have any improvments to try. Thanks Steve

We are staying fri thru suday at insta launch on site 65. If our big boat is out of the shop we will be good to go in any weather. If its not we are bring up our small walleye rig. I hope to get to meet a few of you guys and learn a little if I can. We stayed there last year in september and fished the lake. It was about 30min - 45 min to the pier heads by water. We will be launching at the ramp from now on. Steve

yeah I gave up on the bird and only use it as a gps. And I found a garmin 400c w/ the dual freq sonar. Now I just need time to fish. I think I am going sunday. Did u get your auto pilot back on yet. or are you still on lite duty.

I have run them as fast as 3.2 and still gotten fish. But the best seams to be between 2.0 and 2.5. Steve

I had the same problem last year. After a ride along this year with Paulywood he made it look simple. My problem was 1 my boards were to close to the boat and 2 He used the drag and clickers to let the line out on the dipsy. Steve

I am getting a new garmin400c fishfinder from a friend and have a few transducer questions. I saw one work really well with a dual frequency ducer and would like to get one for my unit. My question is what is the differance between dual freq and dual beam. I looked it up and only got more confused. Thanks Steve

I just bought an old Donzi fishing boat with a full transome swim platform. The motor has about 1400hrs on it and I want to find a bracket to put on the swim platform so I can put my 8hp kicker off my walleye boat on it. I just want a second motor just in case. Thanks Steve
