  8. I have 6 depthmaster rods & reels, I have had a couple of little issues with the reels & two broken rods. Cabela"s has taken care of all the issues without hesitation.I agree you do get what you payfor & then some.
  9. Yes out of Wilson the 25 line is approx 10mi out, & 300 fow.
  10. Yankeee is so right if you haven't been to the bar in the spring you haven't lived.Just go straight out of the river & when you get to the red can go a little fartrher & then go east (unless you have a canadian liscense)
  11. I am looking for a person that might want to fish the spring loc on lake ontario. I have one other person but really need 3 of us, I have a 26ft. cuddy w/ 4 mag 10 downriggers & run 2 dipsys, & sometimes the plannner boards. I have all the rods & all the equipment(spoons, flashers, flies & plugs). I am going to fish out of Wilson, ny. & it costs me 6.00 a night to moor my boat. I am planning to sleep right on the boat so it will be a pretty cheap trip. The way it goes is we share all the expenses & the prizes. If you would like more info. you can go to www.loc.org. There you can see the dates & the cost & the prizes. so if anyone is interested pm me or just post it here. Thank you for looking.
  12. Me also, I also use Mason & it works wondrful.
  13. I just wanted to eish everyone a merry christmas & a very happy new year. May the fish gods be with you!!!
  14. I always run a wire off the port side & a power pro off the starboard (just my choice). about 70% of my fish come off the wire, they say it is the hum of the wire. I run my riggers 10ft. back off the back of the boat & what ever depth I am seeing good hooks. MY wire dipsy is a #o & I start it about 200 to 230ft. back & then ajust it as needed. I am always using my trollers bible to see where my dipsyes are, the #0 set 230ft. back should be about 85ft. deep. I run about 6 to 8 ft. of florocarbon leader off my dipsy / w a snubber.purple is my fav. dipsy to run. Hope this has helped.
  15. In the spring I fish out of Fort niagara(the river), Then as the summer goes on I switch to wilson or olcott.
  16. I was just wonering what moast everybody uses for trolling for salmon. In the spring purple seams to be hot. Wheather it is a flasher & fly or a plug or a spoon. Then as summer comes along gradually things go to green, I have my fav. on the flashers & they are the spin dr. & the smart flasher. My favorite spoons are the greenfrog & anything with orange for steelhead. Just wondering?
  17. I am not sure if this is the proper place to put this or not but this is my introduction. I am a retired fencing contractor that lives & breaths fishing. I fish Lake ontairo & lake erie moastly. I am a very avid salmon fisherman (because of the fight) & go after walleyes to eat. I have a 26ft century cuddy w/ 4 cannon mag 10's on it & use wire with dipseys a lot. I also use planer boards in the spring for browns & all year for walleye. I fish cabela's rods & reels w/ powerpro line. I found this websight & thought I would see if I could be of some help or find out what the rest of the fishing world does. Thank you, Alan
