N II Deep

Good job, not fun going solo

just gently love taps with a hard plastic hammer.

I tried the old hammer on the starter, no luck. I have not pulled any plugs yet to check for the hydrolock condition. if I get home before dark I'm going to try that.

N II Deep is down and out. No starter engagment. when I started to prep the boat the night before I always put the muffs on and let it purr in the driveway for 5 mins or so. well the batteries were low, but I did get it to turn over just not enough to get a good crank, about two turns of the motor and then a small cough/pop. not uncommon for this boat on a cold startup. after charging the batteries, removing/cleaning the cables, then replacing one battery here is where it at. just a clicking noise, also the motor is locked up. I removed the belts, thinking I should be able to turn the crank, nothing moves. could the starter be stuck in the engage position? I'm going to remove the starter Tuesday night unless some else has something I should look for first. Need to get it back up running by Thursday, as I have a group that plans on fishing Friday AM.

Fished the MSCST event Saturday with Ryan on his boat. N II Deep is sick with a starter issue. Late start again, this time my fault. went south started in 45 FOW just south of the pier was very slow. after clearing the 1st set of nets headed due west until we hit 85 fow, went to change up one of the half cores, found a shaker still full of life so we threw that one back. Silver Streak double glow Green dolphin hit 100 fow finally had first and only good hit of the day, was only a 150 Blood Red copper, Silver Streak blue & green dolphin. we did get a teaser rip on one of the dispys in the same water, 120 back set on 1. it was a black spoon with a purple stripe not sure of the name. was not in to good of a mood after working on my own boat until 10pm then having to change plans due to the lack of starting. more detail in another thread on the starting issues.

Ford tough. My old girl is a 98 expedition w/ 260,000+ We had to give her a new heart 5 years ago. The legs are still strong I hope I get a few more years This past winter was rough on her, first signs of major holes in her skin Stay strong old girl and keep pulling N II Deep to the ramp

thanks for the report Kevin, I pulled the boat to work today to just take a test run tonight. if all runs well going to put some lines in.

I think the dog must have carried in eggs from the man made lake at the end of the street. she liked to lay in both during the summer.
