Wow. Great job jimmy. A lot of big fish this summer

I like night fishing the best, just because I'm not a morning person anymore. getting up at 4am to head to the lake to get that early morning bite kinda well bites...
we head out between 5-7pm go 20-30 feet deeper than the current reports, slow troll toward shore.
put the glow stuff out with about 1-2 inches of sun left on the horizon. and hang on just like the morning bite.
we have stayed out as late a 1am.

checking the wind speed and wave height at the mid lake buoy http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45007 is also a great help. watch the radar across the pond, like last Sat am NOAA had 0-1 but a big green/yellow/red blob was at the buoy and the wind was already gusting to 30+. we call off at 4am from home. and from what was posted later in the day 4-7 footers we made the right call. Sunday was a much better day on the lake.
here is another good link. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/?lat=42.787339&lon=-87.132568&zoom=7&type=h&status=r&pgm=&op=&ls=false
also if you have a smart phone search for marine forcast in the market place. I can check this same map with a weater radar overlay right from the boat to see if anything that is moving in is worth pulling lines and running in.

Jon:
Can u post a pic of the steel pin and what matl did u use. Thx
lets try a little market test, how many guys would switch to this style of pin and what would you pay, I have only made a couple handfull up on a manual lathe, but if I could get enough people to buy I could setup one of the cnc up over a weekend and run a couple hundred in a couple of hours. Would just need to cover the material, tooling and machine time - I'm sure the owner would not object as long as he is covered for cost.

I use the wally boards with no issues pulling lead or copper, biggest copper I run is 300 45#, board runs a little close but no issues.
also replace the plastic pin with Stainless Steel, I made my own, after two lost boards. zero lost since.

ya all the grease fell right off that one.
the fish on the left looks a lil hungry -
It was fun. Thanks Jake & Ken
