I fish out of a converted family cruiser, cuz- its paid for. the layout of my Fourwinns will be very similar to the Ciera, with a few differences, one the hull is solid and heavy, two the 350 Merc does much better than the 4cly volvo that I had in my bayliner.
now that it is a salmond slayer the family will not even set foot on board.
I wish it had more deck space in the back that is the biggest down fall.
get a little tight with more that 3 guys aboard.

Had a bayliner years ago, one thing bayliner is known for is under power. Mine was a 21 footer with a 4 cly Had days it would not plane out. 12k sounds a little steap in price.

Gimble ring slop very common issue with Merc's, not a cheap or easy fix:(
mine also has this slop at slow speed.
If it's a Merccruiser I/O it could be a problem with the Gimbal Ring getting sloppy on the upper swival shaft. When the boat is out of the water if you can move the drive from side to side without the the stearing arm moving with it instantly then you have a problem in the ring. If the stearing lever moves in harnmony with the drive the problem is in the rack and pinion or the cable. -
If that made you laugh, drive out where most of these folks live.
I'm from that area and have a good chuckle every time I go out to the mother in laws. Once seen a 1979 Buick regal 4*4 w/6" lift.
Fishing is great out of muskegon. And the shoreline is much better on muskegon lake than it was 20 years ago.
Thanks fisherman5lol:lol:

Hole saw works best, it also works best if you can use a Bridgeport mill, get the RPM's down 200-400.
I tried on my drill press at home and the pipe kept jumping out of the vise.
I started out with trees, then made a rocket launcher to go over the boat. the trees still rotate 90 degs so I can swing them in while coming into dock.
you will also want to paint or powder coat the alum after you build, otherwise you will get a mess on your hands every time you touch the raw alum.
good luck, PM me if you have any other questions.
