Get that degree.... Don't be 30 working full time with a wife, 2 dogs and trying to have a baby, while trying to finish your degree!! wait... that sounds alot like me... Maybe I have to trade in a couple of those things to fish more:)
Dave - it's alot of work doing it that way, but if you are using your employer to cover the cost it works out better than student loans.
I did my 2 yr with cash, working full time building log homes during the summers, when I finished I took a pay cut from the log home biz and started working in the quality and engineering field. I started my family then did Ferris downtown GR at night. The company covered cost. Just my time and travel expense. It worked out for me.
Matt - go after both. you will be able to make enough coin during the summer running boats and still hit the books full time in the off season.

I need to add 3 rod holders to the boat. Does anyone have any extra they would like to see. I hoped to pick some up at the swap meet but the selection was limited.
Dave
I beat you to them,
I found an older set of big jon's heavy duty for $20 bucks.
I thought I saw a back rail with a few titeloc's & downriggers at Larry's table.

Tod, thanks for adding that. That is one of the paddles that I have not found a good fly for yet. I use the poofster on the white paddle with great results.
Gary, I cleaned the empties away before the shot was taken.
Yuck it up you two others, your day is coming.
come on, you had to hide the empties, just poking at you kenny

If you're still in Rockford, take a drive over to the Outdoorsman in Jenison. They carry the bloodrun at a very fair/good price.
I would spool a 300' of 45# for your setup, for the ports mentioned.
I third the outdoorsman. & 300 ft mark.
I stated with two of the 55L. 300 reg copper, one was last seen attached to a Viking. So it is refine with 32 super copper.

looks great Jim, mabey add a little blood dripping off the fish

Is there anything similiar to this for Manistique in the UP??
Not sure, I found that one with a Google search.

I have a pair.
I like them.
You set the depth leave drag semi loose, hit down and you can go set the other rod.
After a release hit auto up, ball stops at pre programed depth. Mine are set for 2 ft below the boat to keep them from hitting any thing. Hit auto up again and ball is at the top.
Have not had an issue with them. I've had them 3 yrs now.
Steve, did you have to do the threeway switch and line counter.

Ben when I get home tonight I will send you a contact for a Guy up in Silver Lake. He takes in old boats and sells off all of the parts. I know he will have what you need.
I bought a used engine coupler from him last year at about 25% of the cost of new.
Pm sent

Welcome to GLF site Joel. Sorry I don't won't be able to give you any advice on 6th st as I don't river fish, only big pond. But I'm sure a few others will chime in.
