any time I spool up a reel to use braid as backing, I start with 15-20 of mono. if the reel does not have a pin, I put one wrap of black electric tape around the knot.
this keeps the line from spinning on the spool. at least its been working for me.

20lbs is a damn nice fish. - I hope someone finds and calls with your boards.
I heard they were coming in big last night. Had a buddy out of Saugie last night had two fish in the 20+ range. he went 8? for 14. 80FOW

Sounds like a great trip to me Nick. Mid June and still taking fish. I recall my first year going out with the wife and kids and coming back in empty handed. Good Job.

Harbor Towne Marine south side of the Lake right next to the channel.
$10 to launch - not sure if they would let you use the fish cleaning station. you could call and ask them.
