  1. Thanks Aaron - I could not remember the name of the place. that's it.
  2. What is a good source to have a SS Prop reconditions in the West Michigan area. I have never hit any thing other than sand & mud, but I been running the same prop for 14 seasons now and want to get it checked out before the season starts.
  3. This time of the year my extra cash is pooling up for the gas tank on the boat, I find that when I drift into a tackle shop for something to do I come out with about 4 spoons I really don't need. Winter blues I guess. then once mid March is here and I go to the GR show I drop yet more cash on the New Silver Streak stuff, Big Weenie, & beer. (can't wait for the show). it is an addiction.
  4. Power Pro going on 5th year, will be replaced with wire if I pick up new roller rods at the GR show this spring.
  5. I second talking with Nate at the Outdoorsmen. I have two of each of the following setup over the past two winters. 350' 45# Bloodrun super cooper (CV-55L) 300' 45# Bloodrun super cooper (CV-55L) 300' 32# Bloodrun super copper (CV-55L) 150' 32# Bloodrun super copper (CV-45L) REEL - Okuma Convector CV-55L or CV-45L all rods ROD - Okuma Classic Pro GTL Copper Leadcore Trolling Rod (CP-CL-862M) 2-pc, 8' 6", medium action my lead is now down to just 1 set of 5-colors, and 3 rods/reels with 2-3 colors on each just for the spring time. found Copper to just be more fun and produced better than the lead. this Saturday stop out at the swap meet http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29649&highlight=swap+meet a few of us will be at that event and you can ask more questions in person.
  6. thanks for the reminder Frank, my large Butt broke the base of my capt seat as well during heavy sea's last fall, need to get on it quickly only 2-3 months until the fun starts.

  9. this league is a low pressure. It really is a good way to put a face with the folks from this forum. you won't get rich in the form of money from this Tourney, but what you will gain is the wealth of knowledge from fellow fisherman like your self. get to see other folks boats and how they have it setup. this will be my 4 year and its all about having fun. I'll have the rules out by this weekend and I hope to have a few more sponsors lined up by then.
  10. A Big thanks to Blood Run Tackle for being our first sponsor for the up coming 2013 season. May 25th - Blood Run Event Blood run tackle will sponsor one of the events and donate (3) 300' spools of copper to the last three place teams of that event. Thanks again
  11. I can't take credit for this one, it's all Jimmy I just recalled is post from before. last year was the first time I tried type of setup, I see one thing I'm missing is the fly skirt in front of the spin-n-glow, going to have to try that as well, I've not been a very active Laker fisherman in the past, as I really don't try to target them, but it is always good to try something different.
  12. Jim Bobber posted this pic a while back. I have used similar Tin Can doggers and spin-n-glows. going after lakers as well. I only have three setups for lakers, a white, chrome, and a copper plated dogger. then for my spin-n-glows I have green - white, green-black, and orange-green. Good luck
  13. Moving the May date to the 25th due to Steelheaders tourney. I will be posting more info and rules later this week. Won't be much if any changes from the last couple of years. biggest change that I want to make is no blow date as most of the guys that live around and fish Holland are not able to do Sunday. I will be trying to get in touch with some of the regular sponsors to see if they still want to help out with this leagues events.
  14. Very Nice -Fish River Fishing in January with out a coat.
  15. How many still have interest in doing this out of Holland this year? I have offered to take the weight in over for this year. and both Dave Ash and Ben Lubbs will be helping as well. here are tentative dates that don't conflict with the leagues out of South Haven & Muskegon, as I know that a few of us fish those as well. May 18 June 15 July 20 Aug 17 Sept 7
  16. Thanks for the effort Nick
  17. I was looking at the Fishon rocket launcher as well, it looks nice and price was very good.I They must get the material get dirt cheap.
  18. Nice job Roger, that a great picture.
  19. I hope that enough people sign up, the seminar that was held in Hudsonville/Jension a couple years ago was great, and was a big help to me as I was just starting out. this is a great way to meet other fisherman from the site and learn a few things along the way.
  20. Gary - Karen, I'm not sure if Ken is doing the WMFL league this year. Last time we talked about it he was looking for someone else to take it over. I know that last year was a wash due to weather, then work. Ken has been working out of town a lot, if I talk to him this week I'll see what his plans are for this season.
  21. Don't feel bad Mark, I'm glad the big box store is giving up. Cabelas will be a nice place to visit, but still my major purchases will be with the local stores.
  22. Sweet. Thinking out side the box
  23. I have six CV30D. Used on wire dispsys, braid dispsys, & riggers,
  24. Well, I bought the F350, went and test drove the new F150 with the new turbo v6, nice truck, but the used F350 was just a better deal, I still have the Expedition that I will keep as a winter beater for now, may sell it off in the spring to get a small car for daily driver. I really just liked the BIG truck. and this truck is just a beast.
  25. Thanks Joel you and the rest of the GLF folks have a Merry Christmas. everyone be safe.
