  1. I have to add at what time of the season, not one port is on fire throughout spring/fall. Spring fishing off St.Catherines, early summer off Oshawa, late summer off Scarborough, fall off Port Credit & Bronte areas. Have to follow the fish........................
  2. Of the 14 Kings we boated last weekend,9 had wounds & 6 of the 9 had lamprey still attached. Definately on the increase. :angry2:
  3. We welcome your input & reports Minnow, come aboard
  4. Enjoy the ride Matt, our Kings are hogs this season
  5. Unfortunately that King was beaten today by a 36.25 lb shark taken off Bronte(west of Toronto). Should still place top 5 at the end of the week. There's some tanks out there this yr
  6. She'll be wrestling Kings in no time,welcome!! ;)
  7. Trigger, what inline boards are you using? The term knot at the water is widely used to describe the amount of core + backing out from the rod tip,Live2fishdjs summed it up nicely. Set the board to not release, you don't want the board sliding down your backing onto your core,it'll chew it up. Just remove the board as it comes into the boat. H.I.H.
  8. Here's Scotty with a 33.58 lb King taken off Port Darlington this morning, weighed into the G.O.S.D. Hope she holds for the weekly big fish(grand prize King is over 37 lbs). WTG Hammer:D
  9. Glad your aboard,enjoy the ride .
  10. Nice silvers Bill, thx for sharing.
  11. I leave it as is,reason being the manufacture has field tested the spoon to provide maximum action as is(whether there's a split ring or not on the nose).
  12. Dodger/fly rigs are run 10-30 ft from the balls, the deeper the shorter the lead length. LJ & Les Davis dodgers have a distinct action that can be read easily on a wire pound ball set up(thumper rod). I've found dodger/fly's outproduce flasher/fly's at first light & in dirty water(also down deep). More thump/vibration comes off a dodger that's kicking back & forth with the occassional roll than a plastic flasher. They each have their time & place. H.I.H.
  13. Second hand smoke proves fatal to non smokers.................... Being smokers don't care about their health, why would they care about anyone else's??? I smoke(no one likes a quitter). Almost $8/pack(25 cigs) up here now. One day,all these health nuts will be lying in a hospital bed, complaining because their dying from nothing.................... . Better to burn out, then fade away(Highlander quote).
  14. Usually the day before the tourney is adequate. Having a reliable, local contact in that area is worth it's weight in gold. When pre fishing,if we already know where the fish are located,we'll fish elsewhere(eliminating bad water or finding a secret mother load). If there's a hard blow and those fish scatter overnight,it's panic time on day 1(always have a back up location-or 2).
  15. Name this tune & watch where the car goes
  16. Welcome Chris,enjoy the ride
  17. Kings in the low 30's are already being taken, better UP your standards to 35-40 lbers  G/L in August
  18. Good points Mark,my CV30's creep while on rigger duty too
  19. You can watch it HERE.
  20. My mug is on the map now too.
  21. The 2 CV 45's(for copper),6 CV 30's for riggers,wire/mono/braid divers I own are satisfacory reels. One issue I've noticed is the line creep, even the rigger rods & inline boards. Divers can be annoying at times(click,click,click........). I've had the extra washer mod added to all the CV's,they still creep. Had Kings last season smoke off 900 + ft of wire with no drag complications. Picked up 2 Tekota LC600's this spring,no line creep on the divers now
  22. I'm not in this Pro Am Mike, too much stuff to do around the house Really bumpy on the lake today anyways(NE wind).
  23. See the link. Day 1
