St Joe 4/10 AM
diesel replied to Katrina Seath's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
hard telling where the fish moved to. i am willing to bet it was because of the winds waves and currents and all the fish i caught yesterday were south of the pier heads and there was alot of boats from the pump station all the way down to cook -

katrina i fished st joe yesterday and it was still slow compared to what last year was this time due to the recent winds. you were right in your water range and after making a call to the dirty dog i found it was slow for the master fish killer. i am gonna try st joe agian durning the week sometime and maybe it will change but on the 17th i would recomend along with nailer to goto the friendly get together out of so haven. i will be there hopefully -

well i pulled the trigger and bought a sea ray today. its a 1976 24ft sundancer with the 230hp ford v8 with a mercruiser gen 1 out drive single screw. it will not be ready for the water till next year because it does need some work done since it is 34 years old. but i figure with a little bit of time and hopefully not alot of money i can make it into a class act fishing boat. i will post pics when i pic it up saturday. a big thanks to mike (glf) and andy (2unreel) for even answering thier phones when they knew it was me to offer thier advice.

from gr area to st joe is about an hour if you run down 96 to 94

well as of right now everything is falling in place for the purchase of a "new" 1985 sea ray 26ft sundancer with twin screws. they guy who wants to buy the bass boat has called 5 or 6 times today asking little stupid questions and is driving in from south lyon tomorrow to look at it and "fingers crossed" buy it so i can make the deal work with the sea ray so all in all if you see pics under a post from me of a sea ray it meas the deal went through

Went to Brooks Archery in Kalamazoo and the owner set her up with what she needed paul ted is my uncle and i personally will not buy a single thing from him ever agian he is just worried about the bottom line and cares only for himself. for archery deal with kruzinga on m-43. now d-n-r is a great place to deal with some of thier staff are clueless but most of them are knowalable on alot of topics and if all else fails talk to randy he takes time to talk to any customer who needs his help
-
talked to andy about it since he is a searay owner and he said he would take some time to take a look at it with me and give me his thoughts on it
-
well found a 1985 searay 26 footer with twin 350's today and made the call and went and looked at it and gave the lady an offer on it just now sitting here waiting if she will take the offer. the boat is not rigged for fishing at all but after being out with andy (2unreel) yesterday i think its a good foundation for a fishing boat. so if anyone has any thoughts on electronics and other rigging ideas that make fishing more productive please feel free to add to this. my thoughts were the fact that the engines are under deck making for open deck for fishing. twin screws just incase (after what we went through on 4-2). the cabin to get crew out of bad weather if it pops up. and its trailerable
-
but hey we made it back had some fun shootin the crap. andy and randy tried to becomes pros at drift fishing for ho's with lead and mono. it was better than sittin at home. and it was good puttin a face to the name and voice of people i have chatted with on here
-
mike i know its after sun up we just leave all our stuff down till past the bridge and yeah you get the picture
-
i put 15 to 20 feet of 30lb mono inbetween the lead and the power pro and clip the boards to the mono cause they seem to slip on braided backer
