  1. Sounds like a blast !
  2. Use a hole saw the same diameter as the vertical tube. For your rod tubes make them twice as long as you will need. Drill with the hole saw through the rod tube in the middle ( half way between ends). That will give you 2 pieces to use for rod tubes with the correct diameter to weld to the vertical tube.
  3. Good to hear. I am heading that way on Thursday.
  4. Splat and Happee Meal have both been good to me.
  5. I plan on running them this week. The fish should be ready now. I ran them last year with good success.

  17. Same as mine. Injector problems, causes the cylinder to fail. Take some time and research it. Opti's are well known for it.
  18. That has been my plan. Straight out is usually good.
  19. Merc is well aware of the problems with the Optimax back in the late 90's early 00's. A good friend had one on his bass boat and it failed also. They do have that problem fixed now.

  23. I had injector problems with my 225 Opti. Ended up blowing the motor. I think it was #5 that went. Rebuilt now and running good.
  24. Biggest I ever caught trolling went 35 lbs about 6 hours after I caught it. Chased it around for 45 minutes just trying to keep line on the reel. That was out front of the bath house at Lud. My arms hurt just thinking about it !
