  1. goes good with the s$@# wireing on the gm vehicles, every third one on the road has a running light out.i used to be a gm fan but after all the electrical issues i had with my last gm i switched to ford.but ha after the bailout they fixed their problems:thumb:
  2. check out www.rocna.com i have one of there anchors.thay are not cheep but well worth the money.holds my 22ft hewewscraft hardtop in place like it was nailed to the bottom:thumb:
  3. i have 5 months in my new ocean pro and love it.it eats the rough water up and the hardtop is warm and dry.i can also tow it anywhere i want no problem.
  4. check your transducer cable,if it is ran with other wires it could be a problem with noise bleeding from the other wires they are ran with.transducer wires need to be run by them selves and not with other transducer wires for sure.it is a common problem, even with installs done by the "pros".
  5. bill,a 10 mountain dew spin doctor with a dw mountain dew fly was good on thursday,so was a 10 glow blade crushed ices pin doctor with a bw proctoligist fly took a few to.long leaders to the flys
  6. whats up with all the excuses from from companys who cant porduce what they promise.they give you a date and then an excuse why they didnt make that date.i was again given a date of next week some time.if i dont have them next week i guess i will post there name and get a refund.hope you see this:mad:
  7. i dont fish tournaments but on the catch and release thing,we caught a lacker with a floy tag last year.this fish was part of a mortality rate study for catch and release fish in lk huron done by dnr fishery bilogist.i had quite a long talk with him about catch and release of salmon and trout.by their findings what kils most of the fish is not being hooked or loosing scales, its being in the net and pounding their heads on the floor or whatever the fish is laid on in the net.we release most of our fish with out netting,if we do net them we do not let them thrash themselves in the net.we release about 20 this weekend:thumb:d
  8. my 22 ft hewscraft hard top burns about $30 to $40 to fish for the day with about 8 to 10 mile run
  9. the launch will be a big mess this summer not only the new traffic pattern but the docks are way short this year.with the low water they cant push them in any farther or they will drop of the edge of the concrete ramp.putting my 22 ft hewescraft on the trailer was a pain in the ass.glad we have a slip at sengs for the summer:grin:
  10. i do but no way to get them off the camera my lap top has issues.they have some pics on their web site and there are a few here in calumets section.
  11. i just want to say thanks to Frank and his crew at calumet marine.last august we went down to see frank and go for a test ride in a hewescraft. after the test ride we decided it was time to order our dream boat,a 220 Ocean Pro HT/ET with honda power.so the process of researching electronic began.the plan at first was for a 12 in mfd,bb sounder, radar and sat weather.as winter progressed so did the electronics.we ended up with a simrad nse 12 with bsm2 chirp sounder, structure scan, sonic hub and 4g radar.we also added a garmin 7212 with sat weather,tr1 auto pilot on the 9.9 and a ghp 10 on the 225.i had them install 2 garmin vhf raidos .a fish hawk x4 and a depth raider for speed and temp on 2 riggers.for riggers i went with 2 ciscos with extendable booms and 2 of the new traxteks.for lighting i had a ton of leds installed. after fishing the boat in conditions from flat to solid 2 to 4s with a few bigger and a 8 mile run in that nasty chop on the bay i am very happy with my boat. stuffing all the electronics in this boat was no small task.any of the questions i have had derek has been right there to answer for me. anybody looking for a good quality fishing boat or electronics should talk to these guys. ps have to thank hewescraft too the 220 is one sweet ride:thumb:
  12. if you have the funds to go hydraulic i would go that route.you will get a more reliable ap and gives you a lot of choices in aps.you can also go with a garmin tr 1 if you have a kicker.
  13. i have all cisco on my boat, from planner reels to riggers to rod holders and love them.the most adjustable rod holder out there in my opinion.i also like the fact that the tubes are threaded on the base not pressed and glued.they do cost more tho.also like that there are none of the stupid caps to loose.their track is nice too, comes with set screws on the ends so you dont have to buy the seprate end caps, saving you a few bucks:thumb:.
  14. heat is the only thing you might have a problem with.if you have a black dash just lay a white towel over it on those hot day and you should be good:thumb:
  15. i was in and out in less than an hour including time in line to buy a ticket.hope the gr show is a lot better.i dont thinkthis show will survive much longer.
  16. it will stop the wheel from turning freely on its own but will make the steering a little more stiff.you will see the diffrence after a long day at the wheel.if you are changing the steering and can afford it i would go to hydraulic its a lot more comfortable in my opinion.
  17. i have one of tonys wire rods too,it will be 2 before long.i had him build mine without rollers with the exception of a roller tip.well woth the money and the guides still look new after one season:thumb:
  18. Joe,if you think you want one and want to go for a ride we will be down on the south end as soon as the launches are ice free.

  19. frank has a showroom at fairview sales 2516 fairview rd eau claire mi.
  20. joe,get her out for a ride on one, might change her mind.frank has another showroom here in michigan too,so you dont have to drive all the way to chitown.it is quite a suprise when you see the actuall price of theses boats.
  21. like paulywood said talk to frank from calumet,i believe they use something like that as part of their battery management systems.
  22. :thumb they will see a lot worse than a little blood n gore, the net is a twisted place.i myself would not let my kids(if i had any)on the net without supervision.my kids would find out about the blood n gut first hand anyway:D
  23. it been better for me when the sun is out.i have had a few days when it was overcast that they worked well too but it was in the top 20 fow.
  24. i like the uv stuff more every year, the silverstreak kato in all sizes was a standout for me last year.
  25. thats exactly what he told me too. when it comes to fixing reels tunas works on more reels than anyone else around here.they even have out of state saltwater guys sending there stuff from florida for their expertese.tunas word is good enough for me
