  1. All I can say is WOW! Beautiful scenary to go with those beautiful fish. Congrats on the license!
  2. I don't know if any of you guys already use these, but my mom whipped out a few of these in no time at all. I use one piece rods and putting them in the rod locker on the boat can be a hassle. If you put them in wrong, you can have a tangled mess when you go to pull them out. These socks keep your lines from tangling into each other when in the rod locker. It is just any material folded over and sewn together. I got this material in the clearance aisle at the local fabric store. If you can use a sewing machine, they take about five minutes to make. If not, I think you can buy them at Gnder Mtn. Hope this will save some people some headaches on the water.
  3. Dandy looking 'eyes, guys!
  4. Can't wait to see the show. Sounds great!
  5. Great Job! The pictures say it all!
  6. I like just those cheap Rapala red sharpeners that sometimes come with the knives. They work very well for the price and are easy for idiots like me to use
  7. Welcome to the site Alan!
  8. Congratulations Chad and Danielle! I hope your big day is special and blessed. You have my vote. Good Luck!
  9. Gets me in the Christmas mood. Thanks!
  10. I have the week off this week, so when my dad called and wanted to go rabbit hunting, I couldn't resist. These dreary, rainy overcast days make for great rabbit hunting weather. We stepped into the field and the first brush pile I kicked ran out a rabbit, and a miss by me. Not more than one hundred feet to the next brush pile was another rabbit. Dad missed this one, but I picked it up for the first rabbit of the day. Did alot more walking without any tracks or rabbits. Then we found them at the ditch near a stream. From there, we took three more rabbits. At the end of the day, we both went two for three, each missing our first rabbit. It was a fantastic day to spend with Pops. These are the days that make me glad I live close to my dad, makes it easy to hunt and fish with him. Looks like rabbit and sauerkraut for dinner tonight!
  11. I rub my hands in the water and rinse my face before the first cast. Not sure why, but have been doing it since I was a kid.
  12. I tried the "Polar Bear" club back when I was in High School to impress some girls that dared me to do it. I did it, didn't get the girls, and am probably sterile for the rest of my life! Nice clip. Thank you!
  13. Sounds Great!
  14. Thanks Ken! I knew I heard about the cougar in Michigan and was looking for the story. Thanks for the link!
  15. Sounds yummy. I was looking for a recipe for a salmon dip this Christmas. Thanks!
  16. Nice to have good fishing to keep you warm!
  17. I think what scares me most is that with all the news coverage lately, there will probably be some idiot out there that will put a few in the lake because they will think it's funny.
  18. I use a #2 treble for pike on our tip ups. My uncle just uses frozen smelt from the grocery store for bait and I couldn't believe how well it worked, no action to them whatsoever.
  19. Now that most of the boats are put away for the winter, I was just curious where you got to fish this year. Due to the low price of gas this year (relatively speaking), I was fortunate to be able to tow the boat to three of the five Great Lakes. I fished Lake Huron out of Port Austin, Lake Superior out of Munising, and Lake Michigan out of South Haven. My goal is to fish all five lakes in the same year. Has anyone here done that?
  20. Have you looked through the old regulation book? It's fun to see the size limits and bag limit back in the day and how they changed.
  21. Great Story.
  22. It's almost as bad as the days of Paris Hilton or Linsay Lohan. I think I watch too much T.V.
  23. Welcome to the site, Rod. I'm sure you'll like it here!
  24. Now that was funny!
  25. Looked like a great day! Glad you guys had a good time. Nice pike pair too.
